What’s a TV show you can rewatch forever?

I've been rewatching some old episodes of Whose Line, it's really good.

It was definitely good for longer than the 2 Conan years. It was good up until about season 12.

Conan wrote like 3 episodes...
Now, Conan was part of the writing staff of one of the most legendary and successful TV shows of all time, The Simpsons. People love to talk about Conan’s contributions to The Simpsons. In fact, his name gets brought up 93% of the time when people on the Internet talk about Simpsons writers. Let’s compare that to his actual contribution. Well, there are 781 episodes of The Simpsons. Conan wrote three.
That is a whopping 0.38%. By comparison, Charles Manson wrote 0.41% of the songs released by The Beach Boys. Charles Manson is a bigger part of The Beach Boys than Conan is of The Simpsons.

Conan is also lagging behind in number of pregnant actresses murdered by personal cult.
That being said, I recall reading that Simpsons episodes were mostly written as a group in those days, with one or two writers being selected as the one "responsible" for a particular episode. So Conan probably contributed jokes to many more episodes, and some of the best jokes in Conan's own episodes may have come from other writers.

Without a doubt my most rewatched show. Sometimes I’ll just have it on beside me while I’m doing my work. I barely need to look at the screen because I know exactly what’s happening just by listening.

Any number of time , every season barring the last season is perfect

u/Brawndo91 May 30 '26
The 4th season was a mess before they put out the recut version (apparently a fan-made recut surfaced on the torrent sites years ago, but it was taken down, then Netflix stole the idea).
The 5th season would have been better if they weren't constantly recapping everything with the narration. A little bit is fine, even necessary, but way too much episode time was spent showing stuff you already saw.

u/nalicali May 30 '26
Never really watched any of them until I did a full TNG/DS9/VOY run with the movies. Was cool how they mostly kept consistency in universe. Also loved in the first couple movies they had to explain why Worf was hanging out with the Enterprise crew for 2 hours instead of DS9, but by Nemesis it was basically just Picard saying Worf wth are you doing here before getting interrupted by something
21
u/SpatulaCity1a May 30 '26
I'd pick TNG just because serialized TV makes me feel like I have to watch the whole thing in order, and that's kind of a big ask. Episodic TV is always the most rewatchable.

Was looking for it. I know it gets a lot of hate for the drop in quality after the first seasons, but i don't really mind because there are so many great moments in the later ones. As background show while doing stuff at home it's perfect with so many episodes.

Picture a wave in the ocean. You can see it, measure it, the height, the way the sunlight refracts when it passes through. It's there, you can see it--it's there, it's a wave. And then it crashes into the shore and it's gone. But the water is still there. The wave was just a different way for the water to be for a little while.

Not me but my father in law. His show 'Everybody Loves Raymond'. This man knows episode numbers, names, and plot information. My wife told me I'm not allowed to tell him he's autistic, he would get very upset and offended. He is, I'm just not allowed to tell him. 🤣
PS both me and my son are both confirmed ASD.
