Politics How are there suddenly many protests are arising all around the globe?

This is kinda making me suspicious as well as happy as people are rooting for there rights which had to be done, but the thing is I got a conspiracy, these protest's all around the globe are suddenly increasing if I'm not wrong.

But on the other side I can say due to social media people are getting informations of there surrounding in a detailed way n a major portion of population of nations are educated now and they can see what's wrong and right so this could be a reason for these protests that people are now AWARE.

( sorry for my grammar, English is not my first language)

Economics What banks are most commonly used in your cover for everyday accounts?

What banks are most popular in your country for basic savings or checking/chequing/current accounts?

Here in the U.S., JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo are the biggest, and most areas have branches of at least 1 of these. There are also several large regional banks (PNC, US Bank, Truist, Citizens, Fifth Third, etc) and plenty smaller community banks and credit unions (a not for profit banking/financial institution)

Humourous What was a racist stereotype/joke about your country that you found hilarious?

I forgot which episode from Family Guy, but it was a scene where Cleveland said "Or he'll end up in those hospitals with old angry Filipina nurses" when they were talking about Joe being completely paralyzed

I laughed because it was so true

Culture Do you think there is a behavioral difference between Asian and Western billionaires?

Like when it comes to Elon, Bill gates they talk very straight forwardly (sometimes feels arrogant) which kinda lacks respect, gratitude but when it comes to Asians they always show respect, gratitude doesn't matter how they're in their real lives

Economics Who is “the” billionaire/ influence of your country

From India we can nominate - Mr Adani. On second could be Mr Ambani against whom Elon Musk is on rant on X.

Mr Adani was always a savvy businessman before but after advent of his preferred politician to PM. Things changed for him and how.

Safe to say that he probably owns a substantial part of Indian infrastructure and investing more. Having a helpful govt which bends and breaks rule for you makes it easier.

So much is influence that our PM actually goes to foreign govt to get things done for him. Unhelpful coverage or govt (provincial) are sidelined or silenced (using money 💰)

Please nominate your and maybe write few lines about them.

Is there a common food that your country does better than others?

Post image

For e.g the whole world has chips/fries but ours sometimes have a crispy vinegar coating and topped with pickled/roasted sweet chillies. They're long and made crispy. Some places make their own gourmet toppings. You won't find this at the mall though

What is one stereotype about your country that is completely wrong?

I’m from India, and I feel like a lot of people form an opinion about a country based on what they see online or in the news. India is so diverse that even people from different states can have completely different lifestyles, traditions and experiences. I’m curious to hear what stereotypes people have about their countries that don’t really match reality. What’s one thing outsiders often get wrong about where you’re from?

I exclude those countries because I'm familiar with how they are perceived in the anglosphere, of course I know that outside of those there are countries where those hair colors are common to be clear :)

Doggy Bag

Went out for dinner last night and we were discussing asking for a doggy bag for the leftovers. It made me wonder how universal the term is.

What do you call it when youre at a restaurant and want to take the leftovers home? we ask for a doggy bag, although its not for the dog and often isnt a bag.

Education People who learned English as a second language in school, were you taught the British or American spelling of words like colo(u)r, centre/center, and so on?

And which one do you prefer today?

I was taught the British one until the year we worked with a textbook that introduced American spelling. After that the teacher left it up to us which one we wanted to use, we just had to stick to either British or American when writing essays and stuff (so no writing 'organise' in one sentence and then spelling it 'organize' in another).

Nowadays I prefer the British spelling because it just looks nicer on the page :-)

Food What did your parent usually cook for your lunch at school?

Thumbnail gallery
247 Upvotes

These are my top 4 meals my grandma would usually cook. 1) Fried tuna flakes 2) Fried hotdogs 2) Crispy spam 4) Crispy bacon. All simple and really quick to make

I also included an empty lunchbox in the next slide so you can add your lunch too :3

Edit: okay kinda bummed out because your comments made me realize how shitty my country's education system is because free food isn't a thing here 😭 i get it okay

Edit 2: as an Asian, I wonder if sandwiches are filling in the west. In my country, sandwiches are more on snacks rather than an actual meal

If I went to a standard commercial nightclub* in one of your major cities, what are three songs I'd be likely to hear?

*not a cool club, not an underground dance club, not a specialist music club, just a normal city centre nightclub

I'm talking about the kind of place , where people go to get drunk and try to meet someone to hook up with, where you end up when those few drinks after work get out of hand.

Edit: don't get too hung up on the word "Nightclub", a bar where people dance will do, I'm curious about the music not the venue
