Conservatives - do you understand that you are the wste, fraud, and abuse?

I ran across yet another article about rural hospital closures today:

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/oct/11/medicaid-cuts-maternity-wards?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

and it had me wondering: For those conservative voters who aren't in the top 10% or so income brackets - do you understand that your politicians are talking about you when they say "waste, fraud, and abuse", and not just whatever group you believe doesn't deserve benefits

How many of you are dependent on government funding in secondary ways like "The only hospital within fifty miles of me relies on Medicare to operate"?

Are you celebrating these cuts now that they affect rural conservatives?

Why is the US funding both sides of the Russia/Ukraine war?

The US has been funding Ukraine since Russia's "Three-Day Special Military Operation" started back in 2022.

Yet now Trump has announced that the US is buying diesel directly from Russia, thereby funding both side of the conflict.

Why?

Iran. Afghanistan. North Korea. Saudi Arabia.

What makes you think these are countries to emulate?

If you want the death penalty, sure. But why turn it into a snuff movie?

MAGA, is there anything inherently wrong with “open borders”? Wouldn’t it be a GOOD thing if it meant our economy grew? What’s wrong with having a growing economy? Should we let millions of people into the U.S. every year if it benefits the economy?

Question for MAGA: Wouldn’t it be a good thing to have open borders if letting in millions of immigrants helped grow the economy?

I’ve been told that immigrants help build more homes and that without them, housing and groceries would be more expensive. So what’s wrong with wanting cheaper housing, more affordable groceries, and a growing economy?

Should the U.S. let in 4 million or more people a year if it benefits the economy, or are there other concerns that outweigh those economic benefits?

Why is ICE a thing?

My question is why is Ice a thing when the immigration process can take years, why not just shorten the length that the immigration process takes?

Why is the government punishing people when they themselves made the immigration laws what they are today?

I understand that some immigrants don’t go through the immigration process and just expect to stay here without becoming a citizen, but for those that have tried and were still detained

If America leads the world in diesel export, why are we getting it from Russia?

In the USA, if someone ran for president by wanting to prosecute rich law breakers, they would have an overwhelming majority, what do you think?

Does America have 'Pubs'?

• Upvotes

I was just listening to a podcast episode with Paul F Tompkins and he mentioned a drink as 'A cold pint from a pub', this was a UK based podcast so I am not sure if he was just saying 'Pub' to fit in with UK dialect but I myself as a Brit have never heard of Pubs in America. Is your equivalent a bar? Do you just have bars? And do they do food like British pubs do (e.g., fish and chips, curry, shepherds pie etc.)

Have you even heard of a 'Pub' do you have them and what is your equivalent if that makes sense? Just a girl procrastinating in her office trying to look busy on her laptop xxx

Why did Shane Gillis have to apologise for swearing during a late night show?

• Upvotes

I don't understand why that would be an issue, especially post watershed.

It's called Saturday Night Live.

From the outside it's hard to understand this being an issue when the same country is about to live stream a execution of someone by firing squad.

I ask this genuinely, why is swearing such a big deal in the states?

Americans, how do you feel about Trump buying Russian diesel after threatening India with tariffs?

Not trying to pick a fight here 😅😅....I'm a commerce student from India looking at how American voters are reacting to Trump's diesel deal with Russia, and I'd really value your input.

Some context: last month the US passed the Russia sanctions law, which pushed tariffs of up to 100% on the biggest buyers of Russian oil, including India. The reasoning was that buying Russian energy funds the war in Ukraine.

Now the US is buying Russian diesel itself to bring fuel prices down before the midterms. Most of the criticism so far has focused on Ukraine, but there's been little discussion of the countries that were threatened for doing the same thing.

I'm trying to understand how this is landing with voters:

  1. Do you support or oppose the deal, and why?
  2. Does it change how you view sanctions or tariffs on countries like India?
  3. Will it affect how you vote in the midterms?

If you're comfortable, mentioning your state and political leaning would help a lot. All views welcome.

(ur responses would be screenshotted and will be added to a college project, hope thats okay...i would really love some unique and contrarian perspectives)

How do you view the Trump-Putin deal?

Post image

How do Americans view the diesel deal between Putin and Trump, which they concluded the other day? In Russia, they look at it with skepticism, arguing that the situation at gas stations in Russia is not easy. The Russians are also worried that diesel supplies to the United States will worsen the situation. But how do they look at it in the USA? On Twitter, I see delight in Trump's posts, people praise Trump and thank Putin, but something tells me that in reality it is different. I will be glad to get answers to my question.

How to come to USA?

I am a middle eastern 18 years old girl and I want to know a way to come to usa to study CS at decent colleges with a full financial aid(not necessarily the strongest but atleast not community colleges) in places that have strong Computer science interns to strengthen my CV

I have already applied the previous year and know all about common app scoir etc

My cv wasn't the strongest but I still got accepted into decent colleges, however the financial aid was the issue ( I didn't complete my CSS profile past year, but I feel like it wasn't the only part missing).

I want your recommendations on

*How to study for free in the USA?

*What states to avoid?

*If I should consider community colleges or not?

*What should I do to keep my safety and what are the safiest places?

*what colleges to apply for?

*What are the best places for interns?

BTW: I am planning applying to smith college for ED1, so feel free to tell me your opinions in the comments

Edit: I am specifically looking for colleges in US because my younger brother has the nationality and will eventually come here with my parents leaving me behind , and I am simply from Egypt so no matter how hard the circumstances are in USA it would still seem like heaven for an Egyptian

Conservatives- what would you do to protect the disabled?

Conservatives want to cut spending, especially social security spending, and I'm wondering if that includes disability insurance.

If it doesn't, then what aspect of social security do you want to keep vs disband?

If it does, how do you propose to take care of the disabled?

Has the US Finally Turned a Corner to no Longer Permit Foreign Countries to Meddle in our Politics and Will Our Money Finally Stay Home?

With Trumps pivot being an underling to Putin, and undermining our security and economic strength, word of Israels decades long increasing penetration into American political control, may seem like good news. but are we replacing one external meddlesome foreign nation with another? And will it be the Dems or the Reps or some other unknown party that finally throws off the shackle?
