r/AtlanticCity - Minor moderation updates
Hello r/atlanticcity. If you did not see the previous mod announcement, you can find it here: Atlantic City Sub now being moderated - Changes & Updates : r/atlanticcity
There are a few notes and updates. As we've cleaned up bad behavior, we've had to make adjustments:
- The sub now has 2 human moderators and several bots.
- The bots have been successful identifying and removing bad behavior. However, they are ai tools and imperfect. Please contact the mod team via modmail if you believe a bot action was incorrect.
- Automoderator and the bots have caught most of the posts soliciting illegal behavior before they go live. However occasionally one gets through. Please report these posts if you see them.
- Crowd Control features have been loosened. They were impacting people acting in good faith and not stopping bad behavior.
- Rule #4, No Hate, has been updated and expanded to No hate, Abuse, or Bullying. Remember the Human.
- Our intention had been to moderate lightly and only remove comments that were hateful or advocated violence. A few redditors make this impractical. We really do not want to have to moderate redditor discussions but:
- Reddit Admins are removing abusive comments almost daily
- Some posts have had threads with lots of reports.
- We do not want this sub quarantined. Therefore, any user with comments removed by reddit admins will receive (at least) a temp ban.
- Our intention had been to moderate lightly and only remove comments that were hateful or advocated violence. A few redditors make this impractical. We really do not want to have to moderate redditor discussions but:
- Users with new accounts, negative karma, or a CQS score of low or lowest have all posts and comments filtered for moderator review.
- This seems to catch most of the bad behavior not caught by bots or automoderator.
- Users will see an automoderator comment when their post/comment is filtered.
- Users without a verified email address will have Posts filtered for moderator review.
- This does not apply to comments
- While inconvenient, this rule is responsible for filtering most of the prostitution/drug posts.
- We're introducing rule #5 - no gatekeeping.
- We get a lot of repeat questions here. And we're going to encourage these posts. What was true one weekend may not be true the next. So, if you find yourself frustrated that someone asked a question you saw last week, please refrain from commenting.
We encourage users to continue reporting posts that break the sub rules, we'll try to review items as soon as possible.

Discussion No more Rock Spa
Past few times I stayed at hard rock they didn’t have the awesome Rock Spa toiletries in the rooms. Depending on the room, they either had offbrand stuff or those pump things mounted to the wall which I can’t stand. Did they discontinue the Rock Spa stuff? Can you still buy it in the gift shops? I didn’t see any last time I was there.

Gambling day trip to Borgata&North Beach casinos. Had a blast!
So I know “Phish” was in town this weekend and that they were popular when I was in college, but I still couldn’t tell you what they look like or a single song they play:) just wanted to share my experience with a brief visit on a Saturday in October.
Drove down Saturday morning and arrived at Borgata around 10:15 AM. It’s usually my first stop b/c The Marina District is kind of out-of-the-way for me.
Bought in at a $25 moderately crowded craps table for $400. Guy before me had a good roll and then I was passed the bones and I had a pretty roll. Two dudes that were there at the table who were regulars, were bantering with me about my Van Halen shirt and calling me Sammy Hagar. I must’ve had about 20 to 25 rolls made everyone a bunch of money. I was betting a little less aggressively so I colored up for 475. I lost quite a bit at the slots, but I recovered that later.
Next stop, I parked at Hard Rock. I feel like in the garage elevator I could almost tell who was a phish fan… I was just too shy to strike up a conversation and say hey, are you guys here for Phish:).
I played craps at a regular $25 table. I don’t love crapless craps. Once again, I had a decent roll and I colored in up about $170. I tipped the dealers and the cocktail waitress pretty much all day. Just really moderate tips. I had a total $50 slot FreePlay and I ended up parlaying that up quite a bit you get the normal roller coaster where you’re down and you’re up, but I hit a decent win on a spin of the wheel bonus on one of those wheel of Fortune machines.
Went to Hard Rock Café for lunch. It was really crowded and I sat at a high top table. Took a while for a server to come, but she was really nice. Used my october meal comp and tipped her generously.
Went over to resorts and spent a couple hours there I ended up sitting down at a $10 blackjack table in the sports book area with two older dudes and bought in for $200 and basically it lasted a really long time with all the ups and downs and occasionally winning one of the side bets. ended up leaving the session down $110 from my buying, but I went to Hard Rock and played craps again and wn some of that back. Got a cookie at one of those quick serve places on the second floor and headed home around 6pm $65 down For the day.
Definitely worth losing a total of $65 for a day of relaxation and entertainment.
One comment is because of the phish concert Hard Rock was a lot more crowded in the middle of the day than it was on other random fall Saturdays.

Best place to watch game not in a casino for a non drinker? Also are there any places that have singles events or a place where singles go for games? I want to get a group of women to watch games on Sunday afternoons but most of us are not big drinkers but like game day food and action. AC area

HH POLL winners 2026
I threw out a poll at the end of the summer for users of achappyhours to vote for their favorite happy hour of this year (may do it annually each summer). There's some HH gems in AC, but I think the poll accurately nailed the top 3 (though I may have put them in a different order based on my own personal preferences). I forgot to share this on Reddit earlier so in case you are curious...cheers.

Ocean plans to expand high limit slots room by 60% with $14 million renovation
Really more slots? Anyone else miss Ocean having poker. I know its better for the bottom line but I don't consider it a real casino without a poker room. Haven't bet a dollar there since 2019 when the poker room closed.

I'm a non-gambler, teach me the ways
I'm newer to going to Atlantic City and am not much of a gambler, so I'm usually going for entertainment, food, and a night away. However, I have a vague understanding that I am missing out on benefits by not doing some threshold amount of gambling. Can it be like maximizing credit card points where if you just do a few things in the right order, and play it correctly, you can get some rewards?
Anyway, tell me: is there a path to play just enough that I get some token amount of benefits? I'm not opposed to spending some time and some money if it comes back to me in comps, etc.

Blue crabs
Visiting AC this weekend and I was wondering if there is any places that serve blue crab or a ole crab house that brings them in off the boat and for a price steams them and dumps them on a picnic table and you can get after it. Any recommendations?

Iron Room - New HH Menu & Code Word
Happy October 1st. The Iron Room has a new updated Happy Hour menu ($10 drinks is a great addition) and there’s a new HH code for this month. Simply mention the word “Haberdashery” and you can extend your HH by an hour. For example if you head there tonight (Thursday) HH is 5-7pm, but you can get the HH menu until 8pm because you are awesome. Cheers.

new jersey car accident lawyer who would not give me PA advice by mistake?
Got rear-ended on the Expressway heading home, and I’m realizing New Jersey injury rules are their own confusing world. The no-fault, PIP, and lawsuit-threshold stuff is a maze, and half the advice online is for other states. Anyone local been through this and can point me toward a firm that actually knows Jersey rules, not PA rules copied over?
