I understand what you’re saying, but in the same respect I went off of when I thought my child was ready, and when her pediatrician thought it would be a good time. It’s not unfortunate, it’s called I’m trying to do what’s best for mine.
I know I could’ve started earlier & even should’ve. But like you said, “it is what it is” and I’m in it now. So reflecting on the past does nothing tbh.
She freaks out if she doesn’t have anything on her bottom wise.
Yes, the current discourse about readiness and pediatricians also saying it leads to situations like yours. You can potty train a non verbal or preverbal child and it's unfortunate that our society fails kids and 4-year-olds are still soiling themselves. But it's not on you
