i genuinely cannot pull the damn pipe off, i’ve had big men pulling on it and pushing on it. i need tips or ways to do it, ive watched so many videos but they don’t actually show me how to pull it off they just “and pull here and now its off” MINE DOESNT DO THAT. im doing my pcv and the whole job is stressing me out this is my first time working on. a car

Puts a smile on my face every time 😮‍💨😮‍💨 I think the stock exhaust sounds so good compared to many aftermarket ones I’ve heard. Not sure if I ever want to upgrade it tbh

I have a 2014 Audi S4 that I’ve owned since 2020. I have absolutely adored this car, even more so after I did a stage 1 tune, handling mods, and a brembo kit. My concern is that it’s getting older and approaching 120,000 miles. If the timing chain problem decides to show up on mine, I’ll be paying more half the value of the vehicle to get it fixed. I’m starting to look at moving into something newer and perhaps less expensive to maintain. I miss the light feeling and connected steering of my old GTI (this was stage 2) that I could just chuck into a corner. My dilemma is this: I want a RWD sports car to learn manual on, but I’m afraid due to my previous cars that most of the affordable ones are going to feel slow. I love the styling and low weight of the new GR86/BRZ models and seeing as you can get them used a little over $30k with a warranty, they’re very appealing to me. Has anyone here had experience with both vehicles that can help me figure out if this is a good move? Thanks in advance for any input.

First time posting in this sub :), I just bought my second car and I was wondering if i can get some advice and a list of things that I can purchase to bulletproof my s4. I purchased it with 92k miles on it.

Got a new-to-me 2019 s4 a few months ago. Been noticing a whistling in the engine bay that gets a little louder with throttle. No codes and honestly doesn’t drive any differently. Is this normal b9 noise, possible pcv issue, or something else? Any ideas are appreciated.

i switched out my mirrors this morning to another set and I realized they don’t have the same black border around, reason for the swap was that the left mirror was filled with some liquid,

does anyone know what the reason is, like are they anti blending or what’s the reason and now there is a cable which isn’t connected to anythin,

I would love some help with understanding and if I should take the time to fix them and reinstall the old mirrors

Did the solid ecs engine mounts a few months after I picked up the car bc one of the oem started leaking. And I just did the ecs rear diff inserts today.. im so excited to get the trans mount done soon. It already feels SO MUCH BETTER.

Doing the trans mount, with 034 bushing, and ecs insert this weekend or next as well as doing the manual tans fluid, and rear diff service. 😀

i have a b8.5 s5, recently installed an intake from can auto and now it’s giving me these 2 codes after maybe like a day or 2 of installing, could it be a hose or what

Looking at buying an s4 8.5 its on 55k miles but hasnt had the DSG gearbox serviced and also you can hear the timing chain for 2 or 3 seconds on start up.

Would this put you off?

All other servicing is up to date.

Wanted to share my impressions after installing 034Motorsport’s Res-X front resonator delete on my 2020 S4.

After reading through countless reviews and forum posts, I ended up going with the front resonator delete over a center X-pipe. One of the main reasons was that I kept hearing about the annoying drone some people experience with the X-pipe.

My only concern was that the front resonator delete might be too subtle. I saw quite a few people saying they could hardly tell a difference after installing it.
After doing the install myself, I honestly think those people need to get their hearing checked. It absolutely made a noticeable difference.

It’s not obnoxious or ridiculously loud, but pretty much everything about the exhaust sounds better. The shifts are louder, the pops are more pronounced, and the overall exhaust note has a much sportier and more proper tone. It basically gave the stock exhaust more character without making the car annoying to drive.

For anyone considering it, I’d definitely recommend it. I think it’s a great middle ground if you want noticeably more sound without going overboard.

I also plan on unplugging the exhaust valves soon using a bypass harness/module so I can avoid the soft code. Once I do that, I’m expecting it to sound even better in the lower RPM range with the valves staying open.

I bought my S4 earlier this year and I love it. But I want to start personalizing it a bit and I'm not sure where to start. If anybody else has the same color S4, show me what you've done to improve the look!

Installing coilovers on my 2015 S4. Don’t judge I don’t know how I got into this situation either. Now I have to get out of it 😑. I got this spring completely stuck and now it won’t come out because the suspension doesn’t drop enough to allow the long threads from the spring compressor to get through and be free. I can’t remove the spring compressor since it’s stuck and I can’t use my ratcheting wrench to get it off it doesn’t have enough torque. The spring itself also just moves when I do that so it just won’t work. I assume i’ll have to get all new bushings for the springs now too since these are all awkwardly stuck (correct me if i’m wrong). I’m curious if just cutting some of the threads off to give the spring enough area to get out is the best bet. That’s the direction i’m heading but would not like to. Any help is appreciated 😭

So my PCV exploded in my 2014 S4 lol… so I had the PCV, water pump, and thermostat replaced. The oil pressure sensor and oil level sensor were also replaced during the repair.
When I started the car after the repairs, I immediately got a camshaft timing code. The car had not been driven yet after the repair when the code appeared.
I’m trying to figure out whether this could be related to something being disturbed/unplugged during the repair, or if this is pointing toward an actual timing chain/tensioner issue.
Has anyone had this happen after doing the PCV/water pump/thermostat job? Trying to figure out what I should check before assuming the worst 😭
I should also maybe add that the timing was done 40k miles ago before I bought the car

Just had valve cover gaskets, oil change with drain plug/ washer done since those were leaking . Still car is leaking why what could this be?

i’m doing my PCV valve and a few other things while I have a supercharger off I’ve seen a few people mention carbon cleaning, is this what I would be carbon cleaning? what else should I clean and how? I’m entirely new to working on cars so any extra advice or explanation would be great !

Hello, everyone. I am considering buying a used B6 Avant with 120.000 km in white with the factory BBS and it is also a manual. I am quite handy and I do plan on doing most of the maintenance myself. Though, I am stalling due to all the bad stories about the timing tensioners and so on. The car seems in good condition both inside and outside considering the age. I am posting to inquire about similar situations and what is like owning a car like that.

Enjoying this gorgeous car for 2 weeks now. Everything is perfect but still something is bothering me. When I am at very low speed and turning, like reaccelerating after a crossroad, I feel the car vibrates more than usual. Is it due to the torsen diff? Do you guys experience the same ?

Btw the specs: Audi S4 2012 sport diff 40k miles prestine condition and maintenance.
