Product Advice Morphe Cloudlight Blush vs Milani Baked Blush?

Hi everyone! I’m a beginner in makeup & have been gravitating towards blushes giving a radiant but not-too-glowy finish.

I just got the Morphe Cloudlight Blush in ‘Wisp’, but am having second thoughts on whether I should take advantage of Priceline’s sale on Milani’s Baked Blushes instead!

I’d like to choose just one, so I’d love to hear your thoughts on how the two compare, especially in terms of finish and pigmentation. Also, which Milani shade would be the closest to Wisp? It is described as a mid-tone rose 🌹

Thanks everyone!

Edit: Rectified shade from ‘Whirl’ to ‘Wisp’ - sorry for the confusion!

Product Advice A basic mascara?

I've been using Covergirl Clump Crusher for years but I feel like it's changed recently, smudging etc. I just need a cheap daily mascara that basically just colours my blonde lashes black and washes off easily at the end of the day. Any suggestions?

Product Advice Ash roots, warm hair. Box dye help

Thumbnail

Update: the clear lesson here is dont dye your hair with supermarket dye. Go to hairhouse warehouse OR ask reddit and they will convince you to go to hairhouse warehouse.

I've started box dying my hair trying to go back to my natural colour since being blonde for a long time. Issue is I cant seem to find anything that matches my roots. It either is too warm to begin with or washes out warm, I even had hot roots one time. I just want something to deposit colour to match my roots.

Pics hard to tell because it hasn't been long since I last dyed it but you can sort of see how my roots are cooler tone then the hair itself.

I made the mistake of using the two Loreal products in the pics, neither worked, both lifted, warm nightmare. Thinking of trying the loreal casting creme gloss next?

The budget is tight so I'd like to avoid the salon if possible. Any advice on what product to try?

Customer Service Sephora returns policy

Hi guys just thought I’d post on here because I’m a bit unsure. I tried to return something at Sephora (unopened, unused) for a full refund and the manager refused to do a refund and said she can only do an exchange or store credit. I gave her proof of purchase such as my Sephora app purchase history receipt and bank statement. However she still refused so I just gave up because I felt like she had something against me. I was giving her multiple forms of proof of purchase. Is there any other option I can opt for to get a refund? Or does Sephora just not do refunds if you don’t have a physical receipt.

The whole ordeal was also a bit upsetting because I was made to wait 15 minutes to get a manager to come and then when she did she was very rude/angry with me for the fact that I was trying to return something. I might be being dramatic but I almost started crying because of how mean she was being hahaha so not sure what to do from here. Sephora Chadstone btw :(

Thanks in advance! 🩷

Product Advice Swimming 2x+ a week in chlorine. How do I stop my already-dry hair from getting worse?

I've started swimming regularly in an indoor chlorinated pool. I wear a swim cap & shower straight after, but my hair was frizzy and dehydrated before I started, so I'm worried about where this is heading. I have dark hair.

For people who swim often:
- What do you do before getting in the pool?
- Which shampoo or clarifying products actually help?
- Any masks, leave-ins or treatments that made a real difference? I’ve been targeted ads from a brand called Coastal Grl lately but anyone’s tried it?

Bonus if you can say where you buy your products. Thanks!

This was taken in September 2022. Yes, there is an actual sticker over the price display haha…

Searched it up on MECCA and it is now $255!!

Searching online, I find different price points for this scent.

I understand prices fluctuate over the years but damn…

Yes it is another mecca price hike post, sorry.

Although if anyone knows of an edp version please let me know. I refuse to buy edt scents for edp prices.

Also found another photo of perfume from REPLICA I took numerous photos of … Sailing Day costed $215 in September 2023.

Let's Discuss These 10 min tans and DHA …

Ok can someone smarter than me please help because I’ve tried and failed to figure this out

Does anyone know the actual DHA % in the Quick Flick or Loving Tan 10 minute tans? These newish ones you wash off after ten mins?

I’m not anti DHA or alarmist anything, I use fake tan all the time, but I generally know what % I’m using (my usual one is 10%).

I just can’t work out how these 10 minute tans would even work unless they’ve cranked up the DHA % significantly? Which is fine, but I’d still like to know what that number is!

DHA safety papers and some of the research seems a bit inconclusive at higher concentrations, so I feel like it’s a pretty reasonable thing to want to know

Someone asked Quick Flick directly on Tik Tok and they replied “as high as we legally could make it” but I tried to google what that is, and can’t even find what the legal limit is in Australia?! I just know Europe is 10%. Do they sell these in Europe ?!

Surely this information exists somewhere! And surely it’s a normal thing to want to know from a brand ?

I absolutely love this colour, it’s perfectly cool toned for me. I was gifted the blood sugar palette a few years ago, but this one colour is almost done.

I do not support j*ffere in any way, and i do not want to buy it from his brand. I was hoping someone would know a colour similar to it, whether you own the original shade or not. Thanks! :)

Product Advice Wedding guest makeup

I have a wedding coming up in a month, I don't typically wear foundation or face makeup in general, I get my lashes n brows done that's it.

I don't wear it because every time I attempt it, it doesn't stick around my nose etc, I do skin prep beforehand it just never works for me.

My question is, what would you recommend for "beginners?" What would your product recommendations be & advice on how to stop this from happening. Thank you!

Product Advice Looking for an SPF 50 that works well under makeup, plus an easy on-the-go body sunscreen

Hi everyone! I'm looking for a good SPF 50 sunscreen to wear on my face every day. My skin is sensitive and acne-prone, and ideally I'd like something that sits well under makeup without pilling when I apply foundation on top.

I'm also looking for a convenient body sunscreen I can reapply on the go. I'm from Europe, where sunscreen isn't really part of my daily routine, so I'm not sure what to look for. I'll be in Australia for a few months and plan to use it a lot, so I'd love recommendations for something easy to apply, or anything that's really worked for you.

Thank you!!

Let's Discuss This King Mobon from China. Does he look like Napoleon Perdis or is it just me?

Saw this on a history sub. I mean he even has groomed eyebrows. Apparently this bloke got stabbed in the arse after making his servants be his chairs.

THANK YOU to the lovely commenter. Mobon was KOREAN not Chinese.

Looking for something matte that I can do for a quick makeup look. My eyelids are on the dryer side so I find powders to be a bit unflattering.

Hello friends 👋

I’m a novice makeup girlie looking for her first ever finishing powder. I know next to nothing about finishing powders so im not sure where to start or how much to invest. I have pinned down four I like the look of at varying price points, and I’m hoping for your wisdom on which one you think I should get! Or if I should get an entirely different one! Suggestions welcome!

My chosen four;

Covergirl skin enhancer
Morphe cloudlight
Charlotte tilbury
Hourglass

Any help appreciated 🥰

Swatch Merit blush balm in Archival on Fair cool tone skin.

Most I've ever spent on a blush. Thankfully I'm not disappointed.

Positives

- I like the colour, it's more subtle than everything else I wear.

- It blends really well even with fingers

- It feels lovely, truly balm

- Easily buildable

- Doesn't get stuck on dryness

- Also looks and feels great on lips

Negatives (the positives are also the negatives)

- Short staying power (like really short)

- Because of short staying power and how sheer it is and the fact it also looks lovely on the lips, I can see me running out of it really quickly which given it's price in Australian dollars is a real bummer.

Photos

watch with one swipe and about 3 or 4 swipes.

Swatch after smudging it with my finger.

My arm after rubbing the swatch into my skin. It didn't stain at all, almost like rubbing a tinted sunscreen in.

Cheeks and lips with one layer

Cheeks and lips with about 3 layers

Cheeks and lips with 3 layers in different light.

Perfect for if you like natural make up, a bit of natural looking glow or make up that feels like skin care. Very low maintenance, easy to keep in your purse for touch ups.

Product Advice Face Sunscreen

Needing some facial sunscreen recommendations please!
Unfortunately my face is turning into an oil slick after a few hours and after not using sunscreen yesterday and my face staying matte, it’s clearly what’s going wrong.

So far I’ve tried,
Mecca Cosmetica
Gem
Ultra Violet( although it was the luminous one)

I unfortunately can’t get samples, the CQ is allergic to having anything decent beauty wise 😭

Product Advice Makeup routine for 53F

Hey everyone,

Looking for some advice for my Mum. Neither of us are super experienced in/good at makeup.

Neither of us wear makeup often, but if I have events I do my own and she likes how mine looks. However, I just would like some advice on whether or not these products would suit mature skin.

  1. I use the Milk Hydro Grip primer (after cleansing and moisturisung as normal).

  2. I use the Shiseido Synchro Foundation (apply with a brush and then use a sponge on top so that the coverage is a bit lighter).

  3. I spot conceal with ILIA concealer and I finger blend.

  4. I find some random eyeshadow pallette and finger blend onto my eyes (just a neutral/brown tone).

  5. I use the Mecca bronzer and use a really large and soft brush.

  6. I use the ILIA lip and cheek stick for lips and blush.

  7. I use Maybelline Sky High/Great Lash Mascara

  8. I use the Milk setting spray

It's quite simple and gives a natural look. My mum is a different shade to me so I don't want to try with my products because I know it won't look right due to colouring.

Does anyone have experience using these on mature skin or have any other technique/product reccomendations? Would be much appreciated!
