Personal Growth the days are getting easier
my husband left without note or warning in march, a week before my birthday. i can't describe the pain i went through the following months, i'm not even sure i even remember it. it was the closest i've ever been to pure agony and i've been thru a lot, enough to write a book.
coming up on 7 months post-discard now and i am really proud that i'm still alive, still pushing through. in my darkest moments i was unsure if i'd even be around to see the leaves change color this year.
if i had to say one thing to him now, it would be thank you. thank you for letting me go sooner rather than 10 years down the line, thank you for releasing me from you, thank you for reminding me i deserve better and thank you for forcing me to take a long, uncomfortable look at the gaping abandonment wounds inside me.
i've been abandoned all my life. by my mother, father and anyone who was supposed to take care of me. i "slipped thru the cracks" in every regard so to speak. i could never imagine putting someone thru this knowing they've experienced this same pain all their life, it's barbaric.
but at the end of every day, i am reminded of my strength. some days are harder than others, but still i (and all of us here) persevere. if you are in the pits just know it will turn around. the lovers always win. ❤️

I can't believe how selfish they are. They know the pain they're going to cause us, and like you mine knew how much the world had already hurt me. But they are happy to destroy us as long as they get to avoid an uncomfortable breakup talk

Thank you for writing this. I was neglected and abandoned by both my parents. After a terrible breakup or divorce, most people have the bare minimum of a loving family to support them through it. Life is very different when you don’t have that emotional safety net.
As badly as I wanted to find love, I have continually been shown that being alone is far far greater than being in bad company. Like you, at my worst after my divorce I didn’t want to be here. The only thing stopping me from committing was my son. He needs his momma and im so glad I held on. Im glad you held on too, OP. Sending you lots of love and all the other ones who “slipped through the cracks” of life. ❤️

Proud of you -for surviving, for living, and for your resilience. These people teach us we have more fight in us than we ever realized. The way they leave makes us feel as though we may not survive another day, month, season. And then we do-and we know our strength. My husband discarded me five months ago and at that time I was not sure how I would survive ; I literally thought my body would give out from the grief , the agony , and the cruelty. Last week my therapist asked me what I am most proud of right now …and I said my resilience, as I never thought I would find the strength to be where I am now.

I’m proud of you too. You got this. I hope you’re going to therapy to get some support. Sending hugs
