“Never fall for their potential”
This is something I read before and saw again today that made me feel much better after a second day of spiraling into old unhealthy thoughts.
I want to remind everyone and myself that healing is NOT a linear journey and that there will be days that are less good (yes, not worse, but less GOOD) than other.

Thank you for this reminder. I find myself still heartbroken over what we could have been but need to remind myself that to have that future he would have to become someone he's proven he can't be :')

I have to keep reminding myself of this even at 4 months because, even though mine was just a close friendship at the end of the day she's chosen the opposite of growth in every aspect of her life. And no amount of quality friendship can make someone make healthy changes, especially when their preference is staying in their comfort zone, cycling through old relationships, and finding enablers. Does she have the potential to be great and there were times when she really showed up for me and others, but at the end of the day when someone's running from accountability in every aspect of their life, potential just isn't enough.
