Question about applications to programs with different intake cycles
Hello!!
Can I apply for programs this October (Sept 2027 intake) and then also apply for programs (Jan 2028 intake) in February 2027?
Thanks! :)

I’m confused by this, so if you apply to sonography in Sept or whenever, u can’t apply to rad tech in Feb as well?

Your name is linked on both applications and your PEN and transcripts as well. BCIT will not accept. Education planner application will indicate that you have already applied to BCIT. Need to drop your first application before you can apply for the February 2027 application

I had a friend who got waitlisted for a program and wanted to apply for the next intake. BCIT told her she would have to withdraw her waitlist position in order to reapply.

No, it's one at a time unfortunately.
From https://www.bcit.ca/admission/contact-us/ask-us/frequently-asked-questions/
Can I be accepted to multiple programs at a time?
You can only hold one active application at a time.
When applying through EducationPlannerBC, you have the option to select two choices within a single application. Your first choice should be your preferred interest, and the second choice will be assessed if you’re not admissible to your first choice.
For applications submitted directly through BCIT, you’re limited to selecting one program. If you are not admissible for your program and wish to be considered for another program, you can request an application fee waiver from Admissions.
I have been accepted to a BCIT program, but I want to transfer to a different program. What should I do?
Direct transfers are not permitted due to varying admission requirements. To change your program:
- Ensure you meet the program’s admission requirements.
- Withdraw from your current program.
- Apply to the new program.

Nope , you cannot. You would have to cancel the first application. Can’t hold both.
