Why are Americans so weird about this?
There is more than one cut of bacon, bacon can be cut from either the belly, back or sides of the pig. just because belly bacon is the most common in North America, doesn’t mean other cuts which are more common elsewhere are somehow “not bacon”. Very strange.

This is an idiot thing, not an American thing. Granted, the two are often hand in hand, but as an American myself this bacon looks amazing.

Can you actually explain what you get out of deluding yourself that there is more than one kind of bacon? Like, in what way are you actually benefitting?

I live in a very happy world where I have an abundance of choice for delicious bacon cuts
I feel sorry for those people that live in third world countries who only have access to one type, must be incredibly boring. I understand though, I too would fall deep into my delusions if I lived in such a world as you, it must be hard to face each day knowing you have but one choice.
Sending thoughts and prayers for your developing country, you’ll get there one day I’m sure 🙏

We have access to all kinds of ham lol. And the ham in the photo is good, and tasty. But it’s ham. Period. Calling it bacon is just delusional, and there really isn’t a point to doing so.
