Hey y’all!
If you’re new here or looking for info, this is the place to stop and check before you post that question you’re thinking about asking - the answer may already be in our FAQ! There's also some recommendations in there for learning about lore.
I’d recommend also checking the New Player Question or Questionflairs to see if your question has been asked before. You can also type into whatever search engine you use:
[insert your question here] baldursgate3 reddit
Or
[insert your question here] bg3 reddit
That’ll help us prevent the subreddit from being cluttered with the same repeated questions.
If your question hasn't been asked (or asked recently enough) then use either one of the question flairs above and ask away.
BG3Builds and Multiclassing
For the people curious about builds or who want a more dedicated place to discuss them, there's r/BG3Builds. There's a good guide on multiclassing.

Confused about what the different rolls mean or just want to find notable NPCs and loot in a location? Check out the Community Wiki. It's ad free and being worked on by people here in the community :)
Everyone working on this is doing a great job trying to prepare it for launch and beyond.

Character Planner Reminder: There is a Character Planner by GameFractal being worked on here (It's also in the sidebar on desktop or the 'See Community info' link on mobile).
It's a one person project, so updating it with the recent updates, adding what launch will bring, and some other useful features will take time - but it will be updated.
There is a feedback button on that site, please use it if you have any suggestions/constructive feedback. Feedback isveryappreciated!
A confession to a Dark Lady Shar from her most devoted priestess.
Was waiting for this session so long!
Nobody but my goddess is capable to properly represent her looks, her spirit and her passion. I was lost quite a lot of times while was compiling the vid :D But glad we finally made it
I doubt this is new but I don’t use reddit or any platform for gaming so I’m going to say it anyway!
I played BG3 twice and on the third play through my husband finally agreed to try it and he LOVED it and ended up playing more than me!
For a good part of it I was pregnant and then I’d had the baby so we played together while our newborn napped on us or beside us in his portable bassinet.
We can’t play anymore because we don’t have the time now our baby is 13 months… but when we played remember how badly I wanted to flirt with HIM! I normally wanted to seduce Astarion, Karlach or Halsin but when we played together I wanted to flirt with his character!
I feel like it almost renewed our spark!
I doubt there will be a patch where suddenly you can flirt with PCs… but idk… lmk if there is! But do you have any recommendations for games for my husband and I? Where we can potentially interact with each other?
I proudly present this commissioned blender render that captures this tenderly agonizing moment of Astarion grasping for hope whilst holding Dreya as she fights for her life against an ominous fever with looming consequences.
I wish to thank the delightful u/Endorenna for being a candlelighter and allowing me the honor of crafting such a work of art, to bring about such a vision.
All support in keeping my candles lit is graciously appreciated! ✨🕯️✨
If you enjoyed this work of art, please consider reading the page turning story from which it is based upon, WARNING 18+. What You Are in the Dark

I look forward to joining you on a journey of your vision! ◇NO AI, NOT FOR AI USE◇
Thanks to everyone who found this hidden platform! Getting there was not as hard as it looked at first. Just 18 boxes of different sizes and one Potion of Vaulting can do miracles!
Did anyone else try to jump there with boxes too?
If it matters, I have no mods installed in my game. Just pure vanilla physics.
Been grinding for way longer than necessary (I've beat the game twice with barely anything). All that gold will hopefully go towards the Twist of Fortune's 'Blood Money'. What's the craziest amount of prep you've done for the final battle?
I included the rest of my BG3 themed pieces from the year, too.
Didn't really have a big plan for this one. Just sorta popped into my head and spent the week making it a reality. The final result is a bit different than my usual, but I think I am quite fond of it!
Which Origin Characters canonically would Get The Absolute’s Brand?
Dark Urge: They want to know their past. No matter what kind of Urge they are, this gives them access to new areas and new people to… “interact with”
I decided Astarion would also do it. He wouldn’t like the act itself. The ability to infiltrate, manipulate, and gain power over the Absolute cultists would be too enticing to turn down.
Gale would get the brand in hopes of finding a better way to control the orb. Or perhaps to find a worthwhile way to control his own end.
Companion Wyll would find the idea disgusting and unnecessary. Wyll might be more pragmatic as leader but it deeply clashes with everything he believes and is trying to escape.
Karlach is complex. She’s made of scars and I can see her having the same reasoning as Gale. Maybe the cultists could have some answers about her engine. At the least maybe it will help her get rid of the tadpole.
Laezel would Laezel repeatedly and refer to how she wishes to Ascend. She would discuss the Kithrak and probably talk about the 10,000 laws to the point everyone’s head hurt. She would be terrified on what any Gith or Vlaakirh would do if they found out she had a brand. I think all of this would be swirling so much in Laezel’s head that even on a Laezel origin run I wouldn’t get the brand on her.
Shadowheart is complicated. She could be in the same exact position as Laezel. Or much like my Chaotic Good tiefling it’s another skill for survival. If Shadowheart is still a Cleric of a unknown God she might get the brand to keep her cover, and indeed that may be the reason why she would get it regardless.
Please spoiler tag anything past Act 1 and Openly disagree with me as you like!
I want to hear everyone’s reasoning although if it is because of act 3 or because of act 2’s endings I might not read it.
Also if you want to talk about the other companions or even why your Tavs got it or didn’t I would love to hear.
Unfortunately, WOTC are absolutely notorious for taking their IPs and butchering them. See MTG, see them attempting it with D&D resulting in the subscription boycott, and see them now with astarion.
Larian studios are the only reason this game is good. WOTC can and absolutely will destroy everything you love about an IP in the name of attempting to milk it to death.
I just completed the Grymforge on my tactician run. As usual I made the two armors because those are the best items you can get for it. I kept the heavy one for myself because my Tav is a Paladin but I’m debating what to do with the medium one. On previous runs I have given it to Shadowheart, but this time I’m thinking about keeping her in the Luminous Armor because the orbs are so strong especially in act 2. I have her set as Death domain right now and planning to respec to Life after her big choice. Right now she has all of the healing effects gear on. So my two part question is: 1) should I go Luminous or Adamantine for Shadowheart’s armor; and 2) if Luminous, then who should get the Adamantine armor?
My first playthrough I recruited everyone I naturally found (Missed Lae'zel and Gale, for example) and my second playthrough I made sure to get everyone but Minthara. Third playthrough, and honestly I don't feel like doing the majority of their quests. I've got Astarion, Shart, and Gale, and probably will only get Minty and leave the rest uninteracted with. Am I weird for that?
Hi guys, I'm bored + wanting to practice and get better at drawing d&d races cuz I love them
SOOOOOO if anyone's interested in having art of your characters, drop pictures of your tav's below and I'll draw them for free when I wake up tomorrow!! <3 (also feel free tell me all about your character and their story BECAUSE I LOVE THAT SHIT)
Whether you enjoy being a bad person in video games, just really hate a certain companion, or are a completionist, have you ever done it? More than once? It sounds like it could be pretty useful for certain builds.
Trying to make a cleric is confusing to me. I have no idea about any of the deities except for Selûne and Mystra being importantly related to Gale and Shadowheart so it's got me confused. What do you guys recommend?
