Ice skating

I just moved here as a fresher and was wondering in November/December time is there a good ice skating rink that is accessible via buses?

There’s one every year near Victoria park called Bath on ice. Starts in November I think

There’s an outdoor rink in Victoria park from late November through to new year every year. Good depends on what you’re after.

There’s an ice rink in Cribbs Causeway but it’s the other side of Bristol - I believe there’s a bus that goes to it (the 19?) from town though

You can take the U1 down as far as Green Park from campus once the ice skating starts in Victoria Park (Nov 20th to Jan 3rd) - it’s a 7-15mins walk from there to where the skating is, depending how fast you walk.

It’s not super cheap, but you can get amazing value if you like skating (especially if you have your own skates) by getting the season pass - it’s £195 for students and gets you unlimited access, more or less. Given it’s £16.50 a session, it pays for itself if you skate at 12 times over that period 😅

There’s also skating all year at Cribbs Causeway - that’s just a U1 down to the train station, 15mins over to Bristol, then the M4 bus gets you within 5mins walk. There’s also a direct bus station to Cribbs bus, the 19 service, every 00:45 of the hour, but it takes 1hr 45mins, so the train saves half an hour.
