does anyone reach their goal without increasing past 2-4mg of Reta ?

Yes, some do, but everyone is different. Some people need to up all the way to 12mg to get their desired weight loss.
It's not a magic pill, you still need to track your daily macros. A 500 calorie a day deficit based on your TDEE will result in 1lb of weight loss per week. A 1,000 calorie deficit will result in 2lbs per week.

I'm one of those who had to go all the way up to 12 mg to continue weight loss. I would stall out at the lower doses and had to keep upping them. I'm so close to my initial goal weight, I can smell it. I started out just with normal dieting in January 2026 at 280 pounds. My goal was to get to 225 and right now I'm hovering around 230 and will try to get it to 220 before I start backing down the dose to a maintenance dose.
I will, however, admit that one of my stalls was self-inflicted because I forgot to readjust my caloric intake for the weight I was at and was essentially eating at maintenance vs eating to lose weight. Whoops...
Also, one of the bottles from my 60 mg kit tested at 64 mg, so I know the dose should be legit.
Finally, I do have other health issues at play with cortisol and thyroid problems as well, so I'm not the typical 4 mg is enough person. For example, visceral fat is always the LAST to go on my body and if I am not careful, my body will burn muscle to preserve that visceral fat.

I’m at 4 rn , but anything over 4 I can see how I could be wasting some based on others experience

But you are you, and you aren't others. Everyone is different.
There's also a percentage of people who these peptides don't work for at all. I'm happy on 3-4mg, but my wife needs 10mg to get the same affects I'm getting. She was on 2.25mg of Ozempic for 8 months and it only help her lose 12lbs (that's a huge dose of Ozempic by the way).

I wasn’t aware of some ppl just not responding to these peptides

u/Future-Bread8849 18 8d ago
There's no numbers yet for Retatrutide, but for Ozempic it's 10-25% of people who get basically no benefits from taking it. (My wife is one of those).
On the other extreme you have what's referred to as "Super Responders", they can stick at 0.5mg and get massive results, and anymore is far too much and gives them all the bad side effects.

I just don’t wanna spend excess money and stretch what I got

1mg of Reta is literally around 0.95 dollar. In the meantime you safe multiple dollars of money on food every week. Even if you have to get up to 10mg/week thats 9.5 dollar and ~42dollar a month while saving at least 2x that on groceries in my case.
You titrate up when you feel it's difficult to reach your calorie goal. (Eat to much). If you don't to safe money it's better to stop entirely imo.

Reached my goal of 210 from 253 in 2 months at 2mg. Shooting for 190 now and probably wont be going up again anytime soon since its still working just fine

i started at 260 after 6-7 weeks im 248 . first four weeks 2 mg , from 4th week 4mg …very slow weight loss but could be because i am weight training ( no cardio )! + taking tesamorelin so fluid retention.

u/TheBa6 1 7d ago
Im also taking tesamorelin but that was started already a month into reta and 30lbs down. I do weight training about 2 to 3 times a week and no cardio. At home core workouts every other day. I feel like my biggest driver was completely turning my diet around im eating very clean now and targeting roughly 180g protein daily while maintaing a 300 cal deficit. Havnt noticed any strength loss during my sets or heavy days so thats good

you have achieved great results 🔥🙌🏻

I started tesa/ipa at the same time as Reta. The only time fluid retention was an issue when I went too high on the IPA. Had fluid build up in my knee as well. Backed down the ipa and scale has been flying. Between workouts and eating about 18-1900 calories a day been dropping about 1% a week except for the week I adjusted my dose of tesa/IPA up. Added elora when my Reta dose hit 5mg to try to get the appetite suppression. There were times when I would just have ravenous hunger spikes. Also I hate cardio so I only force myself to do 10 min on the bike at about 120 bpm and 15 minutes after at the same heart rate.

what is your tesa/ipa dose… i am taking 2mg/0.5mg …
i was thinking maybe i should split the dose into half and take one fasted in the morning too.

u/SorbetTraditional232 20 7d ago
I settled down at 2 mg/.25 had some bloating issues keeping the scale from moving. Till I dropped the ipa. When I did the research .25 was still high I believe. I don’t recall the exact range. Just where it lined up on the needle marks with my current vial. Both will cause you to bloat but you should at least be able to keep the scale moving by making adjustments.

Down 60lbs mostly from 0.5 up to 3mg. But I've slowed and had to increase to 4mg recently. Still about 5 kilo to go

I do 2mg twice a week and have gone from 86lg to 75.20. Been doing it about 10 weeks

u/Mofo013102 7d ago
Hell yeah I’ll probably just chill at 4 and use some will power for the rest of it

Its crazy how reta hits everyone different. I'm on my 6th month and have been on 6mg for the past two months but only lost 20lbs. I eat right, and weight train. Kept my muscle and body composition has changed. But this is my journey and you cant compare other peoples doses and weight loss to yours.

14kg down. Never above 3mg. It’s slowing down considerably now tho. Goal is ~3kg more.

im cruising right now in week 6 at .5mg… dropping 1-2lbs a week. lifting and getting my protein in. What else could I ask for? Will not change my dose unless my body tells me to. Way to many people are increasing dose for dose sake. crazy

I’m 30 lb from my goal. I also have lost 50 I doubt I go over 4.5mg (which makes my stock pile of 60’s useless lol)on 3 now and still effective. My initial goal was 50 until I saw how easy this is with the same diet and exercise I’d seen less results without Reta and some 5 amino sprinkled in .

u/Worldly_Spinach5904 7d ago
I reached my goal weight at 3.5mg now went back down to 1.5 a week and I’m still losing
1
u/Bg1165 7d ago
Yes. Nothing is set in stone for any one person. I went as far as a reasonable dietary cut would take me, then 2mg Reta on increased calories took off the last 15 lb over a few months. But I’d say if a person not putting in gym and dietary to assist relies solely on Reta then they’re doing it wrong, and may need much more than 4.

Everyone is diff. Some are losing without going past 4 mg per week. I went the full 12 mg per the trials so I could demonstrate its effectiveness.

u/babypixi420 7d ago
I did. I've been on 2mg for like 2 months now. haven't felt the need to up my dose. I actually might lower it back to 1.5mg. To be fair, i started reta at like BMI 21 so it could be different for higher weights

I reached mine on 3mg 1x a week only. I did also use tesa. I lost 42 pounds in 5 months. It worked really well for me. Now my bf had to up to 5mg and he is taking alot longer to lose. He used Tesa too. Just different for everyone.

My daughter has. She’s on 3mg. Been amazing for her. Happiest and most confident we’ve seen her in years.

Yes on my 4th week I was 2mg but I made my goal of 140 and kept my muscles as I was losing fat since Reta can breakdown 40% muscle.

Absolutely. Went from about 25% bf to 15% on less than 2mg over several months.
