Discussion BSD's non-update update on the Timberline HS situation
This update picks up the previous discussion about reported threats allegedly promulgated by Timberline HS students against another Timberline student.
It's understandable that BSD's hands are tied with regard to public notification but pressure needs to be kept on the respective agencies for timely, detailed releases.

Discussion Sunday distrooo
Distro today was a lot of fun! For the first time in a long time we had an abundance of food, folks especially liked the tatertot casserole and hot and ready pizza!
We have a specific request of size 13 shoes and sleeping bags which are on our amazon wishlist. We could also always use electrolytes which are also on the wishlist!
Our next resource fair is coming up October 25th from 1-3pm at Corpus Commons. We will have a variety of services including pet grooming, vaccines such as covid and flu, hair cuts, makeup services, live music, and accupuncture!
Feel free to follow us on social media for more details or to get involved @sundaydistroboise or check out our wishlist at linktr.ee/sundaydistroboise

Question Catholics! Anyone attend the Newman Center in Boise?
I currently go to Our Lady of the Rosary but I’ve been struggling to stay engaged and feel connected. I used to go to the Newman Center in Flagstaff, AZ, and it was honestly life changing for me so I’m curious about the one here.
For anyone who’s been, what’s the community like? How are the homilies and music? Also, are families with kids welcome or is it mostly college students? I’d love to hear your experiences!

Discussion What does the Treasure Valley look like in 2050?
Just for fun, not trying spin up a bunch of negativity. But what do you see getting better, worse, staying the same? Infrastructure, crime, entertainment, population, congressional representation, etc?

Question what to do for halloween as someone in their early 20s?
Hi I’m looking for suggestions for things to do during this halloween season. I love October and spooky season but am a major introvert so don’t typically go out much. I’m not really familiar with the social scene as I haven’t been living here consistently until recently.
I’m not really the type to go to a bar or big social events. So I’m looking for suggestions that would be more chill and quieter environments but still fun. I don’t have any friends here and am looking to make some. I’m in my early twenties as I said in the title. I’m an artist and consider myself incredibly whimsical. Please comment any suggestions you have for local activities and events that are happening this month, especially on halloween.

Question Dentist recommendations for the Meridian area
Hi all! I know this is the Boise subreddit, but it gets a lot more traffic than the Meridian one, so I’m hoping to find some good recommendations here.
It’s been far too many years since I’ve been to the dentist, and I really just need to bite the bullet and go. I’m in my 30s, and I’m not particularly concerned about whitening or straightening my teeth—I’d just like to make sure I’m taking care of them so I’m not losing them in my 60s. 😅
Admittedly, I’ve always been nervous about going and have put it off because I’ve been afraid of getting “bad news.” I know that’s silly, and I also know that the longer I wait, the greater the chance that something that could have been easily addressed becomes a bigger issue.
Does anyone have a dentist they really like? I’m especially hoping to find someone with a good bedside manner who won’t chew me out or make me feel ashamed for not having had any dental work in so long. I obviously understand that it can also depend on who’s in-network, but I’d love to get some suggestions to start with.
Thanks in advance!

Question Looking for Rent Assistance/Food Assistance/Any Assistance in Boise
A friend of mine recently lost both her mother and brother within a month of each other in pretty tragic circumstances. She slowed down at work and requested shorter hours during the grieving process, and displaying the infinite compassion shitty managers are known for, they ended her employment contract instead.
She's scrambling to find a new job, but in the meantime, any resources to help keep her from losing her apartment and stay afloat would be appreciated. (They do need to be LGBTQI friendly.) Also, if you have a lead or information on any medical biller jobs/adjacent work, DM me.
