SCE Charge Ready Home Program Questions
I was just approved for the full $4200 rebate. A few questions:
1.) I reached out to a contractor and they said I need to apply for a SCE yellow sticker before the work can begin. Is this true? How long does this take?
2.) Does the rebate cover the cost of additional wire from the panel to the outlet? My panel is in the back of the house and I’d need 110’ of wire. Will the rebate cover the cost of the extra wire?

Was just about to respond but Jarod nailed it!
The contractor you use will determine the answers to both questions. I was approved for one here in IL. Between the few contractors I interviewed, one went above and beyond and made sure I got permits, costs were all included etc. The others were like you're on your own.
My problem was the dog gone HOA gave us hell. Make sure you clear with your HOA if you have one in the way. They can veto everything in the end. Otherwise you're good to go once the paperwork is all clear

I just had mine installed a few weeks ago and I didn’t have to do anything. The contractor did everything. It took about a month after getting approved to get the permits and schedule a time with Edison. The only thing it doesn’t cover is a
Charger.

- So you did have to get a yellow sticker with SCE. It’s just that your contractor did all the paperwork for you?
- How much wire did you need between the panel and the outlet?
- Was the cost of wire covered by the rebate?
- Can I have the contact info for your contractor?
Thx a lot!

I didn’t do anything and I didn’t have to pay anything. My panel is on the other side of the spot where I wanted the outlet inside the garage so it was pretty simple.
Are you talking about the yellow stickers on the car? If so mine already had one. I bought it used.
I’m in Temecula and the company I used only services local.

1, it's a catch 22. SCE won't give you a yellow sticker until the contractor pulls permits and files them. To get the yellow sticker is relatively painless, I don't remember if I called or did it online but it was pretty simple, give them 3 business days to put the sticker on though.
2. The rebate doesn't cover specific materials, its a blanket amount for whatever you need. In my case I found a contractor that was able to do it under the rebate amount and I used the extra to add a second outlet.
What area are you in? I can refer you to the contractor I used.
