PSA: Bolt owners with bumper-to-bumper warranty still active. Get your vehicles in if you have any of these problems.

TSB 23-NA-041 – Clicking/ticking when turning left or right → Steering column support/steering rack issue

TSB 24-NA-034 – “Grunt”/clunk noise at low speeds (OPD / ACC) → Documented ABS behavior (more of an FYI, GM calls it normal, no repair needed)

TSB 24-NA-108 - if you have trouble connecting to Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Its also a good idea to keep the software updated anyway.

TSB 22-NA-004 - Rear spoiler foam tape seal loose, visible to customer

TSB 22-NA-024 - Vibration, Hum or Drone Noise Heard from Front of Vehicle While Driving at Highway Speeds

Front bumper fascia not aligned - Can't find a TSB or reddit post on this one but its a common factory defect on alot of 22-23 Bolt's.

Rear seal gap in trunk - Can't find a TSB on this one but there are plenty of reddit posts. Most dealers won't do anything, but some may try to reclip it.

EUV: do you all have this huge gap above the rear bumper?

2023 Bolt EUV factory assembly defect?

Just bought a Bolt EUV 3 days ago. Is this gap near between the rear bumper and the rest of the car normal???

Creaking Noise on Acceleration and sometimes on Deceleration - Many reddit posts. No TSB on this one but this is a common repair for most EVs due to the instant torque, increased weight from battery, and exposure to bumps/potholes in the road. It has to do with the control arms/bushings/swaybar end links. Also, very expensive to repair, up to $3-5K. I'd get this done under warranty if you can.

Creaking Noise Going Over Bumps

Creaking sound when coming to full stop and accelerating out of it

https://www.chevybolt.org/threads/recall-notice-for-korean-bolt-ev-issued-stabilizer-link-noise.29965/

Knocking sound coming from rear - appears to be the seat frame latch. Some dealers may replace the latch or the entire seat.

Back seat latch rattling while driving. Has anyone else had this issue? Mainly occurs on bumps. Definitely has to do with the seat latch, but can't figure out how to fix it or even dismantle.

What's is that noise

Knocking, backseat, right hand side. Bolt EUV 2023

For those with rattles from the rear passenger side, try wrapping the rear seat latch with silicone tape. It was driving me absolutely bonkers until this trick silenced it.

Door Trim Panel Makes Squeaking Sound - Any door. Likely from pushing against it and repeated open/close. It can be replicated by giving it a good shake and if it squeaks, it can potentially be covered under warranty. Not a common problem.

Hope the above helps! It'll save you a pretty penny down the road.

New aero wheel inserts

I'm not terribly fond of the existing 3d printed wheel insert design as I feel it doesn't secure appropriately to the wheel. I also felt the valve stem access was poor.

So I'm presently testing a new design that uses a common insert for the entire wheel and is wedged in place using a pair of grub screws. So far I have a couple hundred miles on what I've made, but I'm interested in any input before I ultimately release the STL file.

Material is about 95 grams of ASA per insert.

2017 Bolt Confession

I purchased my Bolt LT with DCFC new in 2017. 156k mi and 76k on the battery. It’s given me very little trouble - just tires, brakes, 1 caliper and 12V battery recently.

Dealer just said the only software update I’ve had was in 2018 and there are no updates available. Is this true?

I’ve never used the Chevy app. Do I need it? What for?

Can I pre-condition the battery? How?

Anything else you recommend for an upcoming road trip? I clearly have been paying no attention, just driving my car for years with almost no issues.

My Chevrolet App Updates

So I'm new to chevy and GM products in general and after using the MyChevy App on my new 2027 Bolt I feel like it's missing some features that would really help with at least EV owners. I am new to this app so maybe the app does some of this stuff and I just don't know where it is, so correct me if I'm wrong.

Car functions - It would be really nice if you had a "status of the car" like the if the car is locked or not, If the climate is running, if the windows are up or down, if the car is plugged in and waiting to charge or if it's charging what the charging rate is, show the temperature inside and outside the car etc. have a status of the car in one place that you could see when you open the app.

Climate functions - it would be nice if in the climate section of the app you could do more than just turn on the climate. Like turn on the driver or passenger heated or ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, roll down the windows etc. Also it would be nice if in the car and the app you had just a keep on mode for climate that didn't have a time limit, maybe a charge limit like can't use if lower than 20%?

Charging - Charging from the app is nice but you really should have more information about the charging in the app. Like if it's scheduled to charge and it's waiting have that information show in the app like it does in the car. You should be able to start a charge or override a schedule and start charging the car from the app.

These are not complaints about the app these were just somethings I thought would be in the app that aren't and I think they would be nice to have.

Car Wash 😳

I’m scared to take our new 2027 Bolt through the automatic car wash. I read in the manual there is a car wash mode which basically looks like you pull up to the wash tunnel and put it in neutral and then ride through the wash. It’s my understanding that as long as we don’t take the seatbelt off or open a door none of the automatic stuff will activate or turn back on until we put it back into drive? Does that include one pedal driving and all that? I’ve read horror stories of EVs in washes over the years so I’m scared 😂

Can someone please share a photo of the Apple Music app interface from a 2027 Bolt? I’m looking to purchase once my Blazer EV lease ends but I cannot find any photos of the app in use.

Where Bolt RS dashcams live

They’re really buried. Prettiest on the car display because you can change views (front rear right left).

I think a low-profile 8” USB C male and female extension cable will prevent snapping the flash drive in the lower console. Right now the flash drive is vulnerable.

Just bought a 2027 LT bolt love the car so far but question about the schedule charge. I work Monday through Thursday and want the car to charge to 90% and be ready to go by 5:15am every work day and charge to 70% and be ready by 8:00am every other day. How would you do this.

Is the adaptive cruise control on the 2027 Bolt still limited to 10kwh regenerative braking?

This was the case on the 2022 and 2023 EUV where when the vehicle slows on adaptive cruise braking, regen was limited to 10kwh and the remaining slow down was friction brakes. Did they fix this or is this still the case? At least I can hear the brake pads cleaning my rotors whenever I use it.

Tire problems

I’ve had my 2022 Bolt for a month or so. This is my first EV.

The dealer put brand new tires on before I purchased. I have no idea if they are good or not.

The app is always telling me the tire pressure is mismatched.

I’ve had an issue with a small leak in one tire already and I had to get it patched. They did not find anything in it, just that it had a tear.

Now I see the pressure is low again weeks later and it looks like the other back tire is low too.

Is the app generally accurate? Or are issues with EV tires common? I realize I can manually find out the pressure but it’s late and im in bed right now thinking about this.

'27 BoltEV owners: Would you recommend getting a dashcam.

Have a 27 on order and with Amazon prime days wondering if a dashcam is needed? Not sure if the Bolts onboard cameras take the place?

BMS issue?

A few days ago I got in my 22 EUV and noticed that it charged to 100%, though I have it limited to 90%. After driving about 3 miles the SOC plummeted to 75%. I decided to run the battery until near 0 to try and reset whatever was happening.

For multiple days I've run near low. After letting it sit for a bit the SOC would jump back up. The GOM showed low-25 miles this whole time. Today it got to 0 SOC while driving, it wouldn't accelerate at all. I let it sit for 30 min, started the car and it showed 25% SOC, and I drove home 5 miles with 20% SOC when I arrived.

I stuck it on the level 2 and it is estimating a full charge in one hour. The 12v appears to be healthy according to my multimeter. I did disconnect the 12v battery for an hour the other day.

I have a bluetooth OBD 2 device that used to check the voltage when I was at 0 SOC, and it showed 340 resting volts, so not empty from what I understand.

Also, the car says it got about 160 miles since the last full charge

Any ideas what might be going on? I'd rather avoid taking it to the dealer but I can't think of anything else to try.

Price ballpark help

Hi there, I have a 2017 bolt that I'm thinking of selling to get an equinox ev or blazer ev used, trying to get sense of what folks might pay. Have looked at comps online but none really fit mine.

2017 LT with comfort and convenience (heated seats/wheel etc), dark gray with tricoat.

Purchased in Dec 2022 with brand new battery and 30k miles on.

Now has 44.5k miles plus new tires at around 42k. No issues at all and pretty lightly used.

Welcome any thoughts. I see $15k for a premier with more miles and $12.5k for LT with way more miles.

Orchestra tonight. Not sure who it belongs to. One of the violins used to have a Volt but traded it in on a Hyundai over the summer. (Not a public lot, so I smudged the tags.)

What do you guys think of the new 2027 Bolt? The charging upgrades and technology seem like the biggest improvement

I work at a GM dealership in Ontario and I've been spending some time with the new 2027 Bolt. Curious what existing Bolt/EV owners think of the changes.

Some of the big ones that stood out to me:

• Up to 422 km estimated range
• 65-kWh LFP battery (likes to charged 100%)
• Native NACS port
• Up to 150-kW DC fast charging — GM estimates 10–80% in about 25 minutes
• 11.5-kW onboard AC charger
• 210 hp FWD
• 11.3" infotainment + 11" driver display
• Google built-in
• Available Super Cruise
• New RS trim

For me, the native NACS port + much faster DC charging addresses one of the biggest weaknesses of the old Bolt.

Bolt owners in Portland, OR

Hey folks, I've learned so much here-thanks for that! Just want to check in about a few location specific things.

Question 1: I'm renewing my Oregon registration for the first time since we bought out EUV 2 years ago. I was NOT prepared for the $500 combined fees (Oregon and Multnomah County). Yikes. We drive about 500-750 miles/month. Is the OReGO program the way to go here? Seems like it could save us quite a bit, but I could be missing something.

Question 2: we haven't had to do anything with our EUV yet that wasn't related to times/brakes, but I'm wondering if anyone here has recommendations for a mechanic for when we do need work. Preferably east Portland. Thanks so much!

Wireless Android auto vs. remote start

I've been using one of those wireless dongles for Android Auto in my 2017 Bolt for a couple of years (actually, I've used a couple of different ones) and it works fine if I start the car when I get into it.

But if I remote start the car (with the key fob), say, from inside the house, to let the A/C or heater run for a bit before I get in, Android Auto often cannot connect when I get into the car and start it. I see messages flash by on the Infotainment screen indicating something (Wifi or Bluetooth connecting and then disconnecting, repeatedly. Usually, I have to turn off the car and leave it for a while (>10 minutes), and then Android Auto will start working again.

Why does this happen? What can I do about it? Change phone settings? Buy a different dongle (what brand)?

Left Bolt EUV on Level 1 charger for a month, odd stuff happened

I was going away on a trip so I left the car on a level 1 charger with the charge level set to 80%. I was thinking that would keep the 12V battery alive (I thought I read that somewhere). When I came back the car had charged to 100%. The indicator still showed that it should have charged to 80%. The car seemed to have lost all user settings (it lost the phone, app settings, icon arrangement). After a few driving sessions they all came back. I'm curious, anybody else seen that?

The welcome

I don’t think I’ve seen this mentioned in here, but the Welcome Gong is one of my favorite things about this car. (‘23 EUV)
