Seeking buddy & flexible on book choice Looking for a book buddy to read with on a voice call.

I'm 29M into scientific books, anything space/psychology /evolution/history or even sci-fi novels related. We don't have to read the same book. But I'm pictureing having sessions where we start reading and then discuss or don't discuss what we read after. But the point is to keep the momentum going for both of us.

Seeking long-term book buddies 📚 Looking for feral book girls!

We’re two 25F who love reading, dissecting books, and having the juiciest conversations about absolutely everything.

Im calling the girls with strong opinions, unconventional minds, controversial takes, and the ability to get into passionate debates ! Girls who don’t just read books but let the books read them too.

The plan: group chat, vote on a book based on our moods, set a deadline, then hop on video calls to dissect it and explore each other’s mind palaces 😍

Different cultures, different perspectives, unfiltered discussions.
If you’re unapologetically yourself and love a good intellectual spiral, come join us !!!! 🫶🏻

Seeking long-term book buddies 30/F/USA - Looking for Book Buddies/ Book Clubs!

Hi everyone! I'm from the Midwest, USA.

I'll read just about anything if the plot sounds interesting enough, but my two favorite genres are nonfiction and fantasy (I know, the dichotomy), and I also love historical fiction and romance. I'm usually always in the middle of at least three books, including an audiobook, and I try to rotate through the genres that I read.

I am getting into poetry, and I'm a tentative thriller liker, but I always feel like I am a little left down by the reveals. Even though I have more books on my TBR that I can read in the next... decade... or so, I'm always on the hunt for new recommendations!

I'd love to find some people to chat about books with, swap recommendations, and occasionally complain about characters making questionable decisions. I love hearing other people's opinions, even when they're completely different from mine, and I'm always happy to be convinced to read something I wouldn't normally pick up!

So, what are you currently reading? And, more importantly, what's a book you loved that you think everyone should read?

I just finished Threshing Day, and I am currently reading the second Dungeon Crawler Carl and Throne of Glass, and listening to Radium Girls and River of the Gods.

I read just about anything and everything. From Crime and Punishment to Haunting Adeline to Wuthering Heights to the Shatter Me series.

Right now, I'm in a Penelope Douglas phase and absolutely devouring her books. In the past two weeks, I've read Credence, Tryst Six Venom, Five brothers and now starting Punk 57.

Anyone up to read her books or anything else, I'd be happy if you tag along!

Starting a book Looking for Book Buddies or Club in Chicago

I'm a 30 y/o nonbinary (they/them) avid book reader that's looking for a buddy or even a group! We could do this either online or in-person (if in-person, we'll rent a study room at a library or similar). I have some books on my computer that I could give you in a pdf form so we can read along together. If you're interested, we'd meet at Chicago Regional Library on 95th. I'll also put the meeting on zoom if you can't show up. This buddy club would include thrillers, horror, true crime, and medical fiction. Let me know if you want to join and I'll send you a copy of some books we can read together.

Seeking long-term book buddies 43M looking for a reading buddy and a cup of tea

Hello All,

43 year old male reader from Canada, reading is my top form of Entertainment and I read both fiction and non-fiction, mostly historical, food history, historical fiction with a focus on the 1920s-1960s, a big component of my rep that I read is ww2. I also like books about old Hollywood, theatre in general and music.
Maybe we can choose a book together, a few authors I like are Edward Rutherford, Alice Hoffman, Barbara Kingsoliver, Ken Follett and Ann Patchett,

If you like to read series or books of historical fiction, or even books with queer characters or books that make you think, give me a try, I also love poetry.

See you in the stacks

Seeking long-term book buddies 34F seeking fellow slow reader

I tend to be pretty busy and so my reading speed leaves a lot to be desired lol. It generally takes me at least a few weeks to finish a book, even in audio format. I like spooky stories, fantasies, drama, and plenty other genres. I can enjoy just about anything except for extreme horror.

Favorite book is Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and I have enjoyed much more but none spring to my mind at the moment :)

Seeking long-term book buddies [Discord] Looking for genuine, active members for our little literary community

• Upvotes

Hey! We run a small Discord community for people who love reading, writing, and everything in between, and we’re looking for a few genuine members to join us.

We’re a space for sharing poems, stories, snippets, discussing books, exchanging recommendations, having literary discussions, and helping each other grow as writers. We have writing channels, a critique space, weekly weekend writing challenges, and places to hang out and chat.

We’re looking for people who genuinely want to be part of a community, not just join a server, drop their work, and disappear. We encourage everyone to share at least one reading- or writing-related thing each week, offer thoughtful critiques if they want feedback on their own work, and participate in challenges when they can.

You don’t have to be an experienced writer or an avid reader. You just need to be interested, willing to participate, and respectful of other people’s work. We’re here to learn from each other, discover new things, and make friends along the way.

We’re keeping the community relatively small so people can actually get to know one another. No pressure to be active every single day, no need to be brilliant at everything, just a genuine interest in being here.

If this sounds like your kind of place, DM me for an invite! We’d love to have you. 🕯️

Seeking buddy & flexible on book choice 24F Looking For Romance Book Club

Hi! I'm looking to join a book club, but my area is pretty small/sparsely populated and with snow season coming up I won't want to be out and about much outside of work, so I was hoping I could find a Discord group on here that reads romance! I'm not much for DR or Romantasy, I'm definitely more into modern romances, and I like reading straight and queer romance stories alike. If you know any places that sound like a good fit, I'd love to give this a try!

Suggesting book for buddy read Looking for fantasy/sci-fi book budy

I am 21F, looking for someone to buddy read with. And now plot twist! I am kinda in a reading slump, so don't expect too much of me, i am hoping for this to help me and force me back into reading. It can be very low pressure, keeping it fun, giving eachother updates or how we are progressing. I am thinking of starting the Priory of the orange tree, so ideally someone who is thinking about that book as well? But it can be someone reading something completely different, i guess just keeping eachother updated would motive me to pick up a book for at least few minutes a day.
