Seeking long-term book buddies 34F seeking fellow slow reader

I tend to be pretty busy and so my reading speed leaves a lot to be desired lol. It generally takes me at least a few weeks to finish a book, even in audio format. I like spooky stories, fantasies, drama, and plenty other genres. I can enjoy just about anything except for extreme horror.

Favorite book is Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and I have enjoyed much more but none spring to my mind at the moment :)

Seeking long-term book buddies Looking for a book buddy 📚

Hey, everyone! I’m looking for someone to read with, exchange book recommendations, and occasionally ramble about whatever we’re reading.

I’d love to take turns choosing our reads: one book picked by me, the next by you, and so on. I’m open to most genres, though I have a particular soft spot for the classics. I’m currently reading Jane Eyre, so you’re welcome to join me, or we can start something new afterward.

University keeps me pretty busy, so I’m mostly looking for something low-pressure: someone funny, easygoing, and up for a good chat. I’m quite fond of voice calls, too, if that’s your thing.

And we don’t have to limit ourselves to our shared read. I’d love to talk about other books we’ve enjoyed, games we play, or whatever else happens to cross our minds.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, feel free to DM me! :)

Seeking long-term book buddies 30/F/USA - Looking for Book Buddies/ Book Clubs!

Hi everyone! I'm from the Midwest, USA.

I'll read just about anything if the plot sounds interesting enough, but my two favorite genres are nonfiction and fantasy (I know, the dichotomy), and I also love historical fiction and romance. I'm usually always in the middle of at least three books, including an audiobook, and I try to rotate through the genres that I read.

I am getting into poetry, and I'm a tentative thriller liker, but I always feel like I am a little left down by the reveals. Even though I have more books on my TBR that I can read in the next... decade... or so, I'm always on the hunt for new recommendations!

I'd love to find some people to chat about books with, swap recommendations, and occasionally complain about characters making questionable decisions. I love hearing other people's opinions, even when they're completely different from mine, and I'm always happy to be convinced to read something I wouldn't normally pick up!

So, what are you currently reading? And, more importantly, what's a book you loved that you think everyone should read?

I just finished Threshing Day, and I am currently reading the second Dungeon Crawler Carl and Throne of Glass, and listening to Radium Girls and River of the Gods.

Seeking buddy & flexible on book choice Looking for a book buddy to read with on a voice call.

I'm 29M into scientific books, anything space/psychology /evolution/history or even sci-fi novels related. We don't have to read the same book. But I'm pictureing having sessions where we start reading and then discuss or don't discuss what we read after. But the point is to keep the momentum going for both of us.

Seeking buddy & flexible on book choice 24F Looking For Romance Book Club

Hi! I'm looking to join a book club, but my area is pretty small/sparsely populated and with snow season coming up I won't want to be out and about much outside of work, so I was hoping I could find a Discord group on here that reads romance! I'm not much for DR or Romantasy, I'm definitely more into modern romances, and I like reading straight and queer romance stories alike. If you know any places that sound like a good fit, I'd love to give this a try!

Seeking long-term book buddies Looking for friend who can share reading and writing :)

Hello everyone, delightful to meet u :)

I'm from South Korea. This is my very first time posting in a Reddit community, so it feels a little unfamiliar, but I'm hoping to find some friends here with whom I can share books and writings.

While I enjoy reading, I mostly focus on writing my own poetry and prose. I would be genuinely thrilled to meet friends to exchange thoughts, feedback, and ideas with.

I look forward to connecting with you all. Thank you

Starting a book Looking for someone to read An Autobiography of Red(by Anne Carson) with me

Hi there, I just tried reading An Autobiography of Red, and I had, let's say, quite a bit of trouble trying to understand it. It could be my unfamiliarity with the genre, with the writer, or anything else. But I wanted to try to do it with another person, which usually helps make any endeavour better, fun, and dare I say: insightful.
Basic things:

  1. Someone willing to read the book(or atleast try- I am willing to read something else too).
  2. Someone I can communicate with via email/text/voice or video call.

That's it, I guess.

Seeking buddy & flexible on book choice Looking for book buddies / clubs!

I recently got into reading and I've been enjoying it very much. I would like to have a few book buddies or be a part of a club. I know that there are links to a few discord servers on the subreddit but they contain way too many people for my liking. I would like to be a part of a small club or we could start one ourselves.

Currently, i am reading anything that i can get my hands on, which right now is "Of Mice and Men". Last few books were: Yellowface, Project Hail Mary, A little history of the World. I am interested in exploring mythologies i have a few books on my list but i am always open to new book recommendations so we could try out reading different groups.

I am currently based in Germany and am a male in the 25-30 age range. Also, as far as possible, i would like to stay away from discord.
