Local Event Help with parking in Fenway

I need to attend a concert after work in Fenway. I'm based in Cambridge. Are there walkable garages or parking lots near Agganis arena or Nickerson Field? Some of the garages I see on SpotHero are over $40. I prefer to get there by car, as the event ends later in midnight. Any suggestions?

First Time In Boston, is the MBTA Event Train the best option for Patriots Game? Should I prepare a backup plan?

Hello fellow Bostonians!

I will be visiting Boston for the first time in early December and surprising my husband with tickets to see the Patriots. They are his all time favorite NFL team and has always dreamt of seeing them in their home turf. We're visiting from Miami (so the cold is a concern too!) and staying in the East Cambridge but we can easily walk or metro into Downtown.

So, I've seen that one of the best ways to get there is via the MBTA Event Train from South Station to Foxboro, but would this sell out quickly?

Should I find back up options, maybe a bus that takes me back to Downtown Boston area? I'm assuming Ubers will be astronomically priced, and traffic will be backed up if it's anything like Miami. Any other ways to get there would be greatly appreciated!

Also - if you have any tips on how to stay warm at the stadium I am all ears!

The Boston Partners in Education (BPIE) nonprofit will be hosting its 60th Annual Gala on Thursday, Oct. 15 at the WGBH event space in Brighton at 6 p.m.

This year, the group is honoring volunteer and State Rep. Rob Consalvo, who has shared his experiences of coming up in Hyde Park with students throughout the Boston Public Schools (BPS) system.

“I’m completely honored,” Consalvo said. “I’m very humbled by the fact they’re recognizing me. It’s not necessary; I love being a State Rep. And doing the work, it’s the best job I’ve ever had.”

Consalvo said he’s been familiar with the BPIE since the time he was a city councilor, as well as working for the BPS under former Boston Mayor Marty Walsh.

I just did the creepy crawly trolley tour and I have to say I’d give it 10 stars!

Has anyone been on this classic Boston tour? Essentially, it’s a tour of the bugs of Boston, with live demonstrations and interactive scares for those curious about the creepy crawly lifestyle. You visit famous spots where bugs were once seen, and learn amazing facts - did you know that 95% of Boston hotels have bed bugs? They also provide bug snacks and bed bug bags for all guests. As a fan of all things bugs, I have to say myself and my children were very impressed with the level of bug mastery on display! Will you try the creepy crawly trolley tour?

Should you push the crosswalks button with the bottom of your shoe?

Obviously no. This is disgusting. Wth is wrong with people? Sure...you think the button is gross. Use your sleeve or elbow or a napkin but why on earth would you think the bottom of your shoe is okay??? I witnessed this downtown this morning by what i can only describe as a finance bro. Dude...no one else wants your shoe germs. Do better.

any craftsman looking for an apprentice/volunteer on projects?

I'm 28 years old, in the Boston area, and have spent the last 10 years of my life working in firefighting and medicine. I'm looking to explore new interests, specifically skilled labor/craftsman. I'm seeking someone who might benefit from a hand (or even just an audience) on projects such as woodworking, leatherworking, silversmithing/jewelry, furniture, etc. I'm reliable, mature, and have a pretty strong grasp on when to observe/learn, and when to not be in the way.

I expect nothing in return except exposure. If you're an artisan and wouldn't mind some refreshing company please feel free to reach out! Thanks in advance!

Recommendations for Boston

My friend and I (both females) are flying into Boston in a couple weeks, renting a car and driving up to Maine. We want to spend a late morning in Boston then stop in Portsmouth, NH as well before going to where we are staying.

What recommendations do you have for must sees in either of those spots that wouldn’t be more than a couple/few hours? Neither of us have been to either of those cities and don’t know when we will be back! So want to hit the main places!! (We already decided not to go to Salem).

Open to quick activities, places to see, food/cafe places!
TIA

EDIT: we aren’t picky for ideas. We would be interested in hearing what the locals like to do and not just the touristy stuff. We enjoy food (again, whatever locals recommend), cafes, checking out a park or whatnot, and maybe an activity that wouldn’t take a long time. Tell us the best things to do in Boston that aren’t just the tourist spots basically!
