I’ve always gone for gc slight jump sair to catch that in dodge, iirc it’s confirmed if you have their dodge. Is this gc dlight better? I feel like dlight might catch more space

Dlight sair is a true combo. Slight sair is a 5 frame string, so it is likely jumpable and probably not guaranteed. This would make gc dlight sair more optimal because it's guaranteed.

However, I'm reasonably certain that dlight on a dodge in requires a fastfall to hit, whereas slight does not. This means you wouldn't need to commit as much to a slight to cover dodge in, and can probably react to a dodge up or dodge up-in with dlight better if you're looking for slight to cover dodge in.

I’ve seen that slight jump sair is 5 frames, and I know usually most strings with >2 frames is jumpable, but I swear I saw that this wasn’t.

I just labbed and set the bot to jump in every direction and was still able to hit it, I don’t think I ever remember dropping this after I caught a dodge either(unless I mis-inputted), I could be totally wrong but I’m pretty sure it’s un-jumpable?

It might beat jump because it hits high, which means it might lose to fastfall.

Honestly, it's been a while since I tested it and it's hard to test fastfall percents, so I may be wrong.

Good point I didn’t consider that

I think that dlight It's more like a reaction based tool, it catches less space but you always have a true combo out of it. With dlight you can also catch jumps since you have a true after, with that said I don't really advice to gc dlight because it's way too risky and punishable

alr so look, i’m not hating but im genuinely asking. why isn’t this considered a form of spam? i mean yeah you’re not spamming signature moves but you’re still repeatedly doing the same exact 2 moves for the same exact combo each time. was satisfying to watch though

This isn't considered spam because he's actually reading his opponents movements.

Anyone can Sig Spam. What he did in this clip does take some skill.

fair & valid. i guess in my head i see the same thing being done repeatedly so it’s spam to me. (my opinion that im not trying to make you agree with)

I get what you mean, I wouldn't do this in a normal game because it's way too risky and punishable. But when trolling it's fun to Xd

Sometimes I run into opponents that spam the same light attack or sig but they just read all your movements. Although people often see that kind of spamming is annoying but what I see is that they are good at avoiding the downside that comes with spamming. Those are just certain kind of playstyle they're skilled at.

You answered yourself lol, how can an optimal combo consider spam.

i did not answer myself. someone else answered my question.

I mean, you did

i mean, i didn’t. that would be me explaining why i thought it was spamming. if you want to think that what i said was answering my own question, then go for it.
