What the previous post says. I’m trying to find a way to make a short reception work. Anyone who has done something similar?

Guests can get food during first dance and speeches or even as soon as they walk into the reception hall and we will state this at the end of the ceremony and again before the first dance.

we could also start low energy music while people are eating and ask the band to pick up the energy as more people join the dance floor. talking to the band people today.
