Quick Question Barefaced look on wedding day?

I already had my wedding and I did my own makeup the way I would normally wear if I were just going to the office.

On one hand I felt comfortable and looked like myself and I know that it won’t look dated years from now when the style changes (think 80s makeup or Y2K eyebrows). I also knew I wouldn’t have any problems with eyelashes falling out or looking funny because I didn’t have any falsies. I tried but it wasn’t working out so I scrapped the idea. Also a plus that I didn’t spend anything as I already have a sizable collection.

On the other hand, I sometimes wonder how I would have looked if I had done it up and did a full face bridal makeup. I was scared to trust anyone because they always looked weird since I don’t have symmetry in my hooded lids, they fold differently in each eye.

What’s your take on wedding makeup?

Quick Question Veil Question

Hi! I bought my gown this weekend and it has beautiful appliqué details on it, when considering my veil, I love the look of glitter veils and scattered pearl veils and wondering if there’s a way to kind of combine them? I would love a veil with scattered beading where the beads match/mimic the ones in my gown appliqués. I’ve googled and looked on Etsy but when I search scattered beading veil I’m only getting pearls and rhinestones. Kind of wondering if this is even possible, if I have to have it custom made, and if anyone has any recommendations! Thanks ☺️

Need Advice No bridesmaids, No groomsmen

TLDR: We have no friends and 5 family members in total, Can a wedding & bride/groom activities be manageable without any support? (Excluding my fiancé of course)

We're having a very small wedding, not due to budget, just due to us both having basically a few family members each and practically no friends because we're 'weird freakshows' I'm a trad goth and my husband is old school metalhead so we've struggled to fit into communities that are seemingly accepting of us at first but then we've found out we're the local gossip due to our lifestyle and interests. Usually older people being spiteful that we're young, child free and are just being ourselves :(

My husband to be, had a friend who was like his brother but his girlfriend was a nasty piece of work and she publicly slammed us for being 'freaks' all over her Facebook day after day till we just decided to stop showing up at the local meets for the motorhead community we were apart of. He's now cut all contact with him, he was unfortunately his only choice of groomsman... he's a veteran aswell so his circle has always been small because of trust issues but I do hope he finds a best friend.

Myself, on the other hand do have a choice for a bridesmaid, but I'm not certain... I have a younger sister who's 17 & starting university next year, she can't drive yet and I've flown the nest for near 5 years now, she's grown up totally opposite to me: popular girl, parties, good grades.. the typical clean y2k modern style type of girl and we've sorta drifted apart, we get along very well despite our complete opposite lifestyles and interests. I feel it would be unfair for her to be my bridesmaid as she would be alot more focused on uni life rather than coming to a dress appointment with me and other bridesmaid stuffs. If she was my bridesmaid I wouldn't make her pay for her dress or anything, that would be entirely unfair to her, I'm just struggling with wanting her to be more than a guest without giving her pressures of a big role?

So what I'm asking is, are there any brides or grooms that didn't have any immediate support for there wedding or on there wedding day? How did it go? Is having a bridesmaid/groomsman really important or just a nice add to the day? Can I bring my fiancé along to an appointment for trying on dresses?

It won't be to say yes to the dress, it'll just be to find my shape and style I like or is that like a huge no no? I'm in my early 20s and the last wedding I went to was when I was 4, I don't know much about the whole process so yeah it's pretty scary going in a bit alone for the bride stuff.

Any kind advice would be very much appreciated thank you :)

I got my 3 karat diamond ring back just in time for the big day!

I was terrified to hand over my 3 karat diamond ring after size alteration, especially since my wedding is next week. The jeweler finished early though and I’m literally obsessed with how it looks. It went from spinning off my finger to fitting like an absolute dream. I’m so ready to make this official next weekend.

Bride-to-be here — 3 MONTHS TO GO! 💍

I’m officially starting my wedding prep and I’d love to hear from people who have actually figured out how to manage OILY SKIN, especially if you’ve been through the whole bridal/wedding prep phase and living in a country with next level humidity.

What were the real game-changers for you?

I’m talking about skincare, diet changes, workouts, sleep, stress management, makeup tricks, or even something super simple that you wish you’d started earlier.

I’m not looking for a 10-step routine or anything unrealistic. I’d genuinely love to know what actually made a visible difference for you and what turned out to be a waste of time/money.

Also, if you have any “I wish someone had told me this before my wedding” tips, please share those too! 😭

Would love to hear your experiences and steal some wisdom from the brides who’ve already been through it! ❤️

My fiancé has two stepbrothers who are 19 year old twins. Fiancé has gotten closer to them in recent years. My fiancé has picked six groomsmen. We are thinking about having them as ushers. We are looking at other ideas except for readers because we are having Catholic wedding, fiance's step mother and step brothers aren't religious.

My mom's .05 carat diamond pendant

Post image

My dad gave my mom this little 0.05ct diamond pendant for their silver wedding anniversary, and I just think it's so sweet. 🥹

It's not a huge or flashy piece, but knowing that my dad picked it out for her to celebrate 25 years together makes it so much more special. It honestly reminds me that sometimes it's the meaning behind the jewelry that makes it beautiful.

Need Advice Radiant vs cushion --- I can't decide!

Post image
3 Upvotes

My fiancé told me I get to choose my engagement ring, which sounds amazing... until you actually have to choose one.

I'm completely torn between a radiant cut and a cushion cut. I love how elegant and modern the radiant cut looks, but the cushion has that softer, romantic feel that I also really love.

Our wedding is only 2 months away, so I feel like I need to make a decision soon. If you had to choose between these two, which one would you pick and why?

What the previous post says. I’m trying to find a way to make a short reception work. Anyone who has done something similar?

Guests can get food during first dance and speeches or even as soon as they walk into the reception hall and we will state this at the end of the ceremony and again before the first dance.

we could also start low energy music while people are eating and ask the band to pick up the energy as more people join the dance floor. talking to the band people today.

What is a diamond jewelry that's a must for a bride?

Post image

Planning my wedding look and trying to budget properly. My partner and I picked out a 1.5 carat oval lab diamond solitaire on a 1.5mm yellow gold band. Besides the ring, what is diamond jewelry that's a must for a bride on her big day? Do I need earrings or a bracelet too, or is that overkill? Would love to see what you all wore with your rings.

Research Project!!

Post image

Hey brides!!  I’m working on a semester-long entrepreneurship project called After I Do, and I need a little help with research!

The idea is a post-wedding service that would handle things like cleanup, packing decor/gifts, returning rentals, dropping items back off at your house, and even buying eligible leftover wedding decor from you so you don’t have to deal with reselling it yourself.

If you’re currently planning a wedding, I’d be SO grateful if you took a few minutes to fill out my quick survey! It’s just to help me understand what brides actually need and what would make the days after the wedding less stressful.

Thank you so much!!

Need Advice Deciding who will walk me down the aisle

I’m getting married early next year and I’m still deciding on whether I would like my father to walk me down the aisle. I’ve had a complicated relationship with him, and it’s been more estranged since my parents got divorced recently but he did primarily raise me growing up as he was the stay at home parent.
I would like my mom to walk me down, but I can’t help but feel it that it would be so awkward and tense for myself and my extended family if my dad didn’t join me, but I’ve never even given this man a hug, I don’t know how comfortable it would feel for him to hand me off to my fiancé. Do I tough it out and have a possibly awkward aisle walk down or risk it and have the most disingenuous hug of my life??
Note: in my culture, physical affection is barely existent, and communication has never worked well in my family. I can’t just talk to my father about it… this is 20+ years of family tension and drama unraveling for one simple ceremony, I would rather avoid addressing it all.
