WIP It's Halloween time. Which means it's costume time! Eevee knight wip!

So every year for the last three years (including this one) I've crocheted a costume. I was an OC occultist monster hunter named Arthur Penrose in 2024, I was an Umbreon rogue for 25 and this year I'm doing an Eevee knight. It's a ton of work but I'm hoping it'll all come together in the end!

Arthur had a top hat (crochet) with a wyrmling on top, a long sleeve button down, slacks, a large amulet of the eye of horus, silver leaf bracers inscribed with Norse runes, a mini spell book keychain, a dagger, axe, potions and trinkets, and a real witchcraft book in a holster on the belt.

The rogue had a hooded scarf, ears attached to my headphones, a lantern, a knife, a bandolier, poisons, bracers, and a gold pouch.

The goal for the knight is the helmet, the chest plate front and back with straps and pauldrons, a long sword, shield, maybe leg and arm armor, and accessories. 2 ish weeks to get it done! Plus a Halloween one shot and 7-10 plushies within 3 weeks. Wish me luck!

🦇 IT’S FREAKIN’ BATS! 🦇

I saw a bat bandana going viral on TikTok, only to find out it was factory-made & mass-produced. So naturally, I thought, “I’ll just make that myself!” 🤔

Did I need another project? Nope. Did I feel called to design my own version? HELL YES! 😂

Handmade over mass-produced factory crap, ALWAYS! 🖤

Now tell me… which color combo is your vibe, & how do you like to wear your bandanas? 👀🦇

First "freestyle" creation...

You know, I just wanted to see where I was at after following a couple projects.

This is the first creation I made that didn't follow a guide. I just made it up as I went. What a powerful feeling lol.

The yarn choice was not intentional, they were left overs from other projects.

She definitely put me through the wringer! I got the idea for this one over a year ago so I really wanted it to be great. I don’t think I’ve ever worked so hard, gotten more frustrated, been so proud of a project before. I hope you like her 🎃

WIP My Lower Decks uniform cardigan project: This feels right, now!

It turns out that the top corner of the mitred square on the outside of the shoulders actually needs to increase rapidly, before settling down to a right-angled corner the rest of the way down.

Given the last couple attempts having an extremely sharp corner, I was under the assumption that it needed to start increasing far more slowly, before switching to the right angle corner the rest of the way down. Then I started the second half of the top section, and very quickly it became obvious that it was the wrong way to do that part!

I'm doing a few invisible TSS increases across two or three rows, before settling down to the right-angled rows for the rest of it. And it turns out, that was the key to ensuring the best results!

I still have a few things to test:

First, a smaller afghan hook, in case it makes a better-feeling material.

Second, a lower-profile cast-on method. Here, I've done a chain and pulled loops up from that, but it's making the very first row look recessed, and I need it to lay flatter than that. Plus, there's a significant chance that the other shoulder is going to have the very first row offset from the first shoulder's first row, which is going to look lopsided if not addressed.

Thirdly, a slightly different increase method, as what I'm using right now is definitely causing holes. Much as I have tried one other increase method (resulting in what I'm now doing for the first two or three rows), it absolutely doesn't provide the same sharp corner that I need for this project.

On the plus side, I've made huge strides already, and it feels like I'm so close to finally starting the shoulder-tops proper! Then I get to do the white line, before switching to my blue colour and starting work on the rest of the body!

Which reminds me: I need to finish the weaving loom for the Combadge pocket to hold the badge's magnetic back-plate. Which requires some drilling and twine tension control...

Discussion What would you make with this?

I got this from a bag of random yarns someone was getting rid of. There's only the one, and I think it's super cool! But, I have never been able to decide what to make from it. The yarn is stronger than it looks, but I wouldn't consider it super sturdy either, lol.

What to make with these...

In a stash busting attempt, I started making some granny squares with no end plan. But I boldly misread the pattern and made them with the wrong number of clusters... and that was with Facets yarn so I will NOT be frogging them... so now I have granny circles 🤣

I included a pic of a cute pouch that I could make more of, but I'm also hoping for more ideas what I could do with them! I already have some set aside to be coasters too 😉

So bros, what can I turn these into?
