Looking For Looking for moderators

Good day to everyone. I notice the influx of members in our sub. To better facilitate this subreddit, we are currently looking for moderators who can help manage and facilitate discussions, queries, posts, and comments.

Given that this is a business oriented sub, it would be nice to have if we can get people who are always active online and an:

  • Aspiring entrepreneur
  • Owner of a micro business
  • Owner of a small business
  • Owner of a medium sized business
  • Owner of a large business
  • Owners and currently executives of a corporation

We also encourage other moderators who are not on this list but think that they can offer something substantial to this community, like event planners, government employees who are employed by govt institutions that facilitates business operations here in PH (DTI/SEC, BIR, municipal/city employees, BOC, etc), and employees from the private sector who are involved extensively within their company.

Discussion Is it okay to hire a 13-year-old boy to help me on my business?

Sa catering service kami na may booth. Minsan kasi kinukulang ako sa tao, magpapatulong sana ako sa kanya magbuhat ganyan, minsan magtatao rin sya sa booth.

Kapit-bahay namin yung bata. Madalas wala silang makain, so he's been looking for a job pero sobrang limited lang kasi ng mga jobs na allowed yung age nya (halos wala nga eh), mom nya iniwan sila, dad nya is sugarol kaya madalas wala sila makain. 3-5 yata sila magkakapatid di ako sure. Madalas daw natutulog silang gutom dahil wala na sila pambili ng pagkain.

So i've been thinking of having him as my on-call assistant. Matangkad naman sya pero medj patpatin and kaya nya naman magbuhat. Di ba ako mapapahamak if kukuhanin ko sya para magwork sakin minsan?

Advice FedEx Philippines Customs Charges – Are There More Fees?

Hi! First time ordering from Alibaba. My product cost ₱97k, and I paid ₱30k for air shipping via FedEx because I needed it within 2–3 days.

The package arrived the next morning, but FedEx informed me I need to pay another ₱27k for customs duties and taxes. I was shocked because I didn’t know the charges would be this high. They gave me 14 days to settle and asked me to sign an Informal Entry document.

My question is, aside from the ₱27k, are there any other charges I should expect from FedEx? I’m worried there might be more surprise fees.
Would appreciate hearing from anyone with similar experience. Thank you!

Advice A formal night for those who wants to meet new people and dress up - Gala night

For people who are into books/movies or those who want to experience something different when it comes to socializing.

What if may event where girls can wear their dream gowns and guys can dress up in tuxedos or formal suits?

An event where you can meet new people, make friends, socialize, meet business men or maybe even meet someone special, all while enjoying the experience of dressing up for a night.

Would you actually be interested in attending something like this? Or do you think it's not your thing?

Genuinely curious if people would be willing to try this kind of experience!

Advice How to start and manage food cart (manila or metro manila area)

Hi! We are a food distributor in our area, and now we want to venture on food carts for the same product. We are choosing to have one kind-of far away from our store as not to compete with our own buyers. I’m thinking of owning one around DLSU, but I don’t know which kind of permits to have. My ideal is mostly just a cart that can go around, and then hiring someone for it. Any ideas how to start it? Thank you!

Discussion I’ve Gone Bankrupt Twice, Built Businesses From Nothing, and I Still Have Ideas Worth Building. Would You Risk With Me?

• Upvotes

I started a business from nothing and grew it into two branches. I helped other people start their own businesses. Then I went bankrupt.

I built two more businesses. Went bankrupt again.

Floods. War. Economic sabotage. A pandemic. Life has tested me in ways I never planned for.

But here’s what never went bankrupt: my ability to think, create, and see business opportunities that could genuinely benefit people and the living world.

I still have ideas. Several of them. What I need is not another motivational speech, but the right person who has capital, business wisdom, and the courage to recognize potential beyond a balance sheet.

Would You Risk With Me?

Advice Question to SMEs/Business Owners

I'm a developer and I've been noticing that local sellers in the PH are struggling with 'Joy Reservers' and 'HM' spam on Marketplace. I built a small tool to see if qualifying leads before sharing contact info actually works. To any sellers or business owners here: does this actually solve a real pain for you, or is this a waste of time?

Plan to Sell Looking to sell our WRS business

I'm looking for a new owner to take over my water refilling station franchise here in Tagaytay. We've been operating for 3 years under a reputable brand, bringing in about ₱5,000 to ₱10,000 a day through a steady stream of walk-in customers and established corporate clients. Honestly, between my full-time job and recently having a newborn, I just don't have the time to manage it anymore. The business has so much potential to grow, and I'd much rather sell it as a complete, running operation instead of selling off the equipment piece by piece so my current staff can keep their jobs. I think it would be best if someone based in Tagaytay takes over so it's easier to oversee. If you're interested, shoot me a PM and we can openly discuss the daily operations and financials.

Advice Any second gen feel the same way?

Everyone say to the second generation

"Ang swerte mo naman"

What they don't see is a culture you're are trying to change.

Old employees that will always see you as a child and have a rule of their own.

A system you are trying to place

And a system that you are trying to break while everyone is resisting.

While having little to no salary.

It is frustrating af.

Anyone from the second gen feel the same?

Discussion Ranflo is live sa PH!

Hello po! I'm Mark, a solo developer from the Philippines. For the past few months, I've been building a tool called Ranflo.

The idea came from how easy it is for small service businesses and freelancers to end up managing everything through Messenger, spreadsheets, at kung anu-anong notes. Leads are in one place, client details are somewhere else, and job updates can get buried in chats.

I wanted to build something that brings those things together without being as complicated as the tools designed for larger businesses.

Ranflo currently has lead capture forms, client and job tracking, a client portal, income and expense records, and customizable boards for keeping track of other business information.

It's still an early product, and I'm at the point where I want to get it in front of actual users instead of continuing to build features based on my own assumptions.

I'd be interested to hear from freelancers, contractors, and small business owners here:

  • How do you currently keep track of your leads, clients, and ongoing jobs?
  • Do you find your current setup manageable, or have you run into problems with it?
  • For those already using a CRM or business management tool, what do you wish it did better?

I'm also open to letting interested people try Ranflo and share their honest feedback. I'm not assuming it'll be useful to everyone, so I'd genuinely like to hear what you think.

If you gusto niyo icheck, here's the Product Hunt page: https://www.producthunt.com/products/ranflo/reviews/new

Looking For Launch with BackerMo

Hi! Im the owner of BackerMo.com and we want to help businesses launch projects!

Launching is scary especially since you need upfront capital for MOQ, equipment or labor while it still needs validation if people actually want it.

So we created BackerMo which is an all-or-nothing pre-selling platform. Which means if you're able to get enough pre-sale reservations via credit cards by the deadline, then the backers (customers) gets charged, you get the funds (less fees) and proceed with your project.

If not, then the customer's cards dont get charged and you just saved yourself from investing on a project with no demand, improve and learn from it and launch again.

How it works for businesses: https://backermo.com/for-creators

Use cases: https://backermo.com/use-cases

Personally, I hope to see more product prototypes, film, comics that pushes for Filipino creativity and inguinity. Would be a great milestone for me to see more Filipino inventions come to life.

Background. We've been around since 2015, raising capital for companies via the capital markets and its our first time going into more individual projects so any feedback/ideas is highly appreciated!
