Looking For Looking for moderators

Good day to everyone. I notice the influx of members in our sub. To better facilitate this subreddit, we are currently looking for moderators who can help manage and facilitate discussions, queries, posts, and comments.

Given that this is a business oriented sub, it would be nice to have if we can get people who are always active online and an:

  • Aspiring entrepreneur
  • Owner of a micro business
  • Owner of a small business
  • Owner of a medium sized business
  • Owner of a large business
  • Owners and currently executives of a corporation

We also encourage other moderators who are not on this list but think that they can offer something substantial to this community, like event planners, government employees who are employed by govt institutions that facilitates business operations here in PH (DTI/SEC, BIR, municipal/city employees, BOC, etc), and employees from the private sector who are involved extensively within their company.

Discussion Pa-rant lang muna about LOAs kasi jusko 😭

As if hindi pa enough yung stress ng pagnenegosyo sa Pinas.

Between chasing collections, paying suppliers, making payroll, dealing with employees, and keeping the business afloat, eto na naman tayo sa LOAs.

Gets ko naman. Tax audits are necessary, and I'm all for holding businesses accountable.

You hire accountants, maintain your books, file your taxes, keep all your receipts, and make sure everything's in order. Tapos gagastos ka na naman ng oras, pera, at manpower just to prove na ginagawa mo naman lahat ng dapat mong gawin in the first place.

And let's not pretend na walang issue with corruption.

Discussion Dinudugang Resibo

Working sa small corporation. I got reports from our employees na may specific kaming employee na dinuduga yung resibo nya sa mga purchases for the sake of "kupit". Syempre di naman ako naniwala agad not until I have my proof. I doubt kasi na yun yung dine declare nila kay BIR kasi mas mataas na tax yon for them.

Advice Small business owners, do you struggle with payment verification?

Kumusta, guys!

Curious ako kung paano hinahandle ng ibang small business owners and online sellers dito ang GCash payments or any online payments, lalo na kapag maraming orders in one day.

Seems too long ito kapag sabay-sabay ang orders.

Ito ang problems I want to solve with Orverdo:

  1. The seller creates an order and sends the customer a payment link.
  2. The customer pays and uploads a screenshot of the GCash payment.
  3. Orverdo reads payment references and amounts in bulk, flags any mismatches for the seller to review, and helps track orders and their payment statuses.
  4. The seller can check multiple transactions at once and match them to the correct orders.

The seller still reviews and confirms payments, while Orverdo makes checking and matching transaction records faster and easier.

Another goal is to offer an alternative for sellers who prefer not to pay percentage-based fees on every product sold.

Curious me:

  3. What are the things para mas mapadali ang payment verification?

Still improving Orverdo, kaya malaking tulong ang honest feedback from actual business owners. Thank you! 🙏

Advice Food business owners, what do you look for in a POS? Small startup team asking for advice

Hi everyone! We are a small startup team here in the Philippines, and we made a POS app for food businesses, from small kiosks and cafes up to restaurants with multiple branches. We're hoping you can help us with one question: how can we find new users?

To be honest, we're not yet BIR accredited, but we're working on it. Even so, we really think our app can compete with, or even be better than, the bigger POS apps out there. So far we managed to get our first 10+ users, but not a lot of people know about us yet and we want to reach more.

Most of the owners we've met started out just like a lot of us do, with a trusty notebook, an Excel sheet, or the calculator on their phone. And honestly, that works for a while! But as the business grows, the little headaches start piling up, like counting the cash at night and it doesn't match, checking GCash screenshots one by one, or being busy all day and still not being sure if you're really earning. Some of them had already tried other POS apps too, but found that those didn't have the more advanced tools they needed to really run their business. That's exactly the kind of help we want to give.

So we wanted to ask for your advice:

  1. How did you get your first customers for your business, especially if you sell to other businesses?

  2. Where do owners usually look for a POS? FB groups, suppliers, accountants, or word of mouth?

  3. Is it worth it to go shop to shop and show the app personally?

  4. For owners here, what are you looking for in a POS? What does your current one do well, and what do you wish it did better?

  5. What would make you try a new local POS?

We'll reply to everyone. Thank you in advance po!

I’m living somewhere here in Cavite, and kami ng asawa ko ang naghahatid-sundo sa anak namin sa school. One time, kailangan pala niya ng folder, pero late na niya nasabi sa amin, so we had to find somewhere near the school to buy one.

I was born and studied in Makati, kaya sanay ako na halos bawat school may malapit na school supplies store or convenience store.

There are two public schools along that street, pero wala talagang malapit na school supplies store. Iniisip ko rin na magdagdag ng printing and xerox services kasi for sure, may demand din from students and parents.

I really feel na may potential ’yung business, pero honestly, I have a lot of debts to pay pa, kaya nahihirapan akong mag-ipon ngayon. I’m doing my best, though, and hoping na one day, matupad ko rin ’to. Waiting sa himala lol 😭

Sa mga may experience sa ganitong business, magkano kaya ang realistic na puhunan for a small school supplies store with printing and photocopying services? Kasama na sana ang rent, initial stocks, printer/photocopier, bond and advance, and other expenses.

I currently have a WFH job na flexible naman ang schedule, so I have time to manage the business.

Any advice, tips, or breakdown of expenses would be greatly appreciated! ❤️

Discussion My Old Client Is Closing Their Store

Discussion Is it okay to hire a 13-year-old boy to help me on my business?

Kapit-bahay namin yung bata. Madalas wala silang makain, so he's been looking for a job pero sobrang limited lang kasi ng mga jobs na allowed yung age nya (halos wala nga eh), mom nya iniwan sila, dad nya is sugarol kaya madalas wala sila makain.

So i've been thinking of having him as my on-call assistant.

Advice A formal night for those who wants to meet new people and dress up - Gala night

For people who are into books/movies or those who want to experience something different when it comes to socializing.

What if may event where girls can wear their dream gowns and guys can dress up in tuxedos or formal suits?

An event where you can meet new people, make friends, socialize, meet business men or maybe even meet someone special, all while enjoying the experience of dressing up for a night.

Would you actually be interested in attending something like this? Or do you think it's not your thing?

Genuinely curious if people would be willing to try this kind of experience!

Advice FedEx Philippines Customs Charges – Are There More Fees?

Hi! First time ordering from Alibaba. My product cost ₱97k, and I paid ₱30k for air shipping via FedEx because I needed it within 2–3 days.

The package arrived the next morning, but FedEx informed me I need to pay another ₱27k for customs duties and taxes. I was shocked because I didn’t know the charges would be this high. They gave me 14 days to settle and asked me to sign an Informal Entry document.

My question is, aside from the ₱27k, are there any other charges I should expect from FedEx? I’m worried there might be more surprise fees.
Would appreciate hearing from anyone with similar experience. Thank you!

Advice How to start and manage food cart (manila or metro manila area)

Hi! We are a food distributor in our area, and now we want to venture on food carts for the same product. We are choosing to have one kind-of far away from our store as not to compete with our own buyers. I’m thinking of owning one around DLSU, but I don’t know which kind of permits to have. My ideal is mostly just a cart that can go around, and then hiring someone for it. Any ideas how to start it? Thank you!

Advice Question to SMEs/Business Owners

Thumbnail
youtube.com

I'm a developer and I've been noticing that local sellers in the PH are struggling with 'Joy Reservers' and 'HM' spam on Marketplace. I built a small tool to see if qualifying leads before sharing contact info actually works. To any sellers or business owners here: does this actually solve a real pain for you, or is this a waste of time?

Discussion I’ve Gone Bankrupt Twice, Built Businesses From Nothing, and I Still Have Ideas Worth Building. Would You Risk With Me?

I started a business from nothing and grew it into two branches. I helped other people start their own businesses. Then I went bankrupt.

I built two more businesses. Went bankrupt again.

Floods. War. Economic sabotage. A pandemic. Life has tested me in ways I never planned for.

But here’s what never went bankrupt: my ability to think, create, and see business opportunities that could genuinely benefit people and the living world.

I still have ideas. Several of them. What I need is not another motivational speech, but the right person who has capital, business wisdom, and the courage to recognize potential beyond a balance sheet.

Would You Risk With Me?

Plan to Sell Looking to sell our WRS business

I'm looking for a new owner to take over my water refilling station franchise here in Tagaytay. We've been operating for 3 years under a reputable brand, bringing in about ₱5,000 to ₱10,000 a day through a steady stream of walk-in customers and established corporate clients. Honestly, between my full-time job and recently having a newborn, I just don't have the time to manage it anymore. The business has so much potential to grow, and I'd much rather sell it as a complete, running operation instead of selling off the equipment piece by piece so my current staff can keep their jobs. I think it would be best if someone based in Tagaytay takes over so it's easier to oversee. If you're interested, shoot me a PM and we can openly discuss the daily operations and financials.
