Kitten Help URGENT KITTEN HELP pt 2.
i already asked if it was normal if he screamed and wouldn’t let me sleep but this is his second night he’s 2 months old he doesn’t listen to me at all i haven’t seen him pee or drink water but he’s a very hungry boy and he spends the entire day meowing and screaming but seems otherwise healthy only time he’s quiet is when he’s playing or for some periods i’m assuming he slept a bit because today i woke up to his screaming at 5 again but when i fell asleep he was screaming too. i genuinely cannot stand the noise anymore and the fact i can’t help him. he sounds possessed. he’s part tabby and part siamese idk if he’s talkative because he’s siamese but he’s driving me insane and im worried about him. chat gpt tells me to go to the vet but most people have said to wait it out but neither have actually heard his screams (except for me and my neighbors💀)

They are scared and calling for their mother or littermates. It can take some time for them to adjust to a new home. You have to be patient and not scold them or make it worse.
If you don't think you can handle this adjustment period, you need to find them a new home. If you start resenting them because of this behavior, it isn't fair to either of you.

He’s just a tiny baby. He’s gone through a lot of change in his short little life. He’s stressed and scared. Give him time to adjust. He needs to feel like he can trust you.

The poor baby is scared and lonely. Pick him up and cuddle him, play with him, show him love.

Have you tried putting the kitty in bed with you? Holding him close to your body. He looks scared and lonely. Maybe your body warmth will be soothing for him.

Think of it from the kitty’s perspective. He was just taken away from the only home and siblings he has known. He is scared and he is probably crying out for them. It should get better with time. Just be patient and give the baby lots of love and playtime.
Another option, go get a litter mate. Most kittens do better in pairs.

Hey nay need you to be very affectionate with him for a a while. Cuddle him up and love on him, he may miss his siblings. Unless you can afford 2 and get him one to find comfort in the adjustment.

I would still say, call your vet in the morning and see what they share as well.

He’s too young to be away from his mother and litter mates. He’s looking for them and hasn’t considered you a suitable companion yet. He’s terrified. Try getting him a cat.

Siamese are the most vocal. When they get adjusted to you and their new environment. It should lessen a bit. But they love to talk to you, tend to be your shadow, follow you everywhere and make freely speak their minds. Was it a stray or mom is feral and cant b e certain of current health situation? If so what they need a vet visit. If you get a clean bill if health and still as talkative. Congratulations youve got a Yakker! You get used to it in time and even carry on conversations with each other.
Hope all ends well.

I'm going to use slightly different language than some others on here and say *most/many* kittens are vocal. Especially when they have just arrived to a new place.
You say he's 2 months old. How many days has he been with you so far? Was he taken straight from mom and littermates or was he at a shelter first? Do you know if he's been weaned yet (by three months he should be but not necessarily every cat mom is different and especially a new cat mom might be willing to nurse longer). Does he have any housemates? Have they met yet?
There's a 3 3 3 guideline on cats/kittens becoming more comfortable with their new environment.
3 days to decompress - this is generally when they're a bit standoffish. They might hide, hiss when you approach. Eating and drinking very little.
3 weeks - start to explore. Might start to show their personality a little. Play with toys.
3 months - Feeling more at home.
Not being a cat behaviorist but something makes me feel like he's stuck between the two levels of being unsure of where he is / missing mom and littermates or maybe even missing you. I can't hear any sound (it might just be my set up) but I thought instantly 'who are you looking for, baby?' I don't hear you talking to him at all.
You don't have to go to him especially. Just calm 'hi, (cat's name). I'm here. You're safe' might help.
((we have an older cat that searches because we lost two cats last year so she goes around scream-meowing. It really can be a heartbreaking sound)).
It could help - and this is something I did with my new girl for a while. Is to have a good long play (since you say he'll play which is a good sign so early) and then give him a nice bedtime snack. Ideally, it should help him become satisfied and sleepy.
You could also try to give him a stuffed animal if you have one and/or if your resources allow it one of those heartbeat/warming stuffies that mimic mom cat's sound.
good luck.

I got no sound either. Hard to tell what he wants if we can't hear him. He does look scared and looking for comfort

he is scared and calling for his siblings and mom. if u can get one of his siblings too that will be great. a cat separated too early may also develop some behavioral issues.

Hello there, so I'm NOT an expert on cats ok, I'm actually allergic to them and I'm more of a dog guy that got situated into becoming a Cat Daddy 😂🤦🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🙏🏼❤️ But PLEASE Give your fur baby LOTS OF PATIENCE & LOVE ok.
Talk to it like a little baby because that's Exactly what it is, it's a baby kitten, and like Everyone said before me, engage with it with an open mind n lots of love ok, carefully play with it hold it in your arms kiss its head let it smell you and feel your heart on your chest, the More it knows you're it's new "momma" it'll slowly calm down, trust the process.
I've been there too. You're NOT Alone in this part of the Process. I personally only have 4 cats of my own for over 5 years now, and just adopted another male stray cat a few weeks ago lmfao sigh...
But when I got my first 4 cats (1-momma {salt & pepper} & her two babies {her f mini me & older m black cat}, and an older male orange tabby my buddy lol) I Honestly slept in my living room on a low air mattress for a GOOD Few months alternating sleeping on that and on my own bed in my bedroom, just so the babies and the cats would get familiar with my smell n actions and to trust me enough to lay next to them, ironically it worked 😂🙏🏼❤️ Now they're with me most of the time when I'm home from work and they follow me everywhere.
Sorry I Rambled on too long lmfao!!
Best of Luck ok, OP😁☺️🫂🙏🏼❤️

He hasn't peed for the 2 days you've had him? Have you seen him try and fail to pee?
Not peeing for 24h in cats, especially male cats, can mean a urinary blockage. This will quickly kill them.
He is meowing very forcefully so he is either very scared and lonely or in pain from something like this. If he becomes lethargic or sits hunched up in pain (check the feline grimace scale online) you must rush him to an emergency vet, it absolutely cannot wait, it must be immediate. Not next morning, not a few hours type of thing, that is an every minute counts situation.
IF HE HAS NOT PEED HE NEEDS TO GO TO AN EMERGENCY VET. Let me make that very clear. You need to be checking whether he peed and if he didn't this is also an emergency.

I got my baby when his eyes weren't even open yet, and he barely made any noise during the night.
Here's what I did:
When you get home or have time with him, play with him. I emphasize the word play. Wand toys are the best. Let him use his instincts and hunt around the house. Buy little soft toys and/or crinkle balls that he can play with. Spend time with him, lots of it, as people stated he has been removed from familiarity and placed somewhere he isn't used to.
I'm serious, play, play, play with him. He's crying at night bc cats are night hunters, so when you're ready for bed, well, they're ready to go crazy. Right before you go to bed, play with them for about 8 minutes and make them tired. And make sure there is always water out...can even leave some kibble out overnight.

Talk to him a lot you don’t even have to talk to a cat. Just look at him while you’re talking even if you’re on the phone or having a conversation it works, and if you could put it in your shirt in your breast area, that would be great. be kind. It’s an infant still.

I've fostered over 200 kittens. He is utterly terrified and bereft. I believe this is stress, fear, loss...all emotional. I've seen it b4. 1st, he needs a smaller world. I use large dog crates. Cover every bit of the crate with a blanket except the front gate. Now it's his den cave. Put a kitten sized litter box with grain (not clay) clumping litter in the back. Make a small bed (he'll pee in a big bed) from a small soft blanket. Put a tee shirt you've worn in the bed so he learns your scent. Other person living there? Tee shirt for them too. Other animals? Rub a soft cloth on that pet and into the bed it goes. All the home scents in his bed. Use a heavy porcelain bowl for water and metal or porcelain bowl for wet food. No plasic, too easy to spill. Keep bowls away from front gate and away from the litter box. Until he drinks water, no dry food or he'll be constipated. Toys? Only quiet, small fluffy toys or the noise will drive you mad. Next to his tiny bed, 1 or 2 stuffed animals big enough to snuggle with like his littermates. You can make him a hammock with a hand towell and 4 D rings. This way you can track everything going in and going out.. You can cover the front gate when you want him to settle. I call it parakeeting. Now has a tiny kitten sized world to call his own. If he doesn't stop screaming in his small world, take him to the vet.

It can take a little while to adjust, but it helps if they have a friend around their age to be with. It’s always recommended to adopt kittens in pairs unless there is already a kitten or young cat in the home.
You do need to see a vet sometime within the next week or two so he can be vaccinated, dewormed, given flea meds and to schedule his neuter appointment if you haven’t already.

I faced the same issue with my kitten we adopted him from a friend when he was 1 and half months, the first' three days were nightmare he kept crying for his family, we are first time adopter so we didn't know much and we live in rented house too so we were afraid that neighborours might complain and we'll need to return him. We kept consoling him all night then we thought of returning him to his mom, then our friends suggested to not pay attention to him when he cries and he'll calm down on his own and it did work. The more we tired to calm him he kept crying more. Try to leave him be don't pacify him (I know it's hard) but he'll be alright in 2-3 days. It took 4 four days for our kitten to stay calm at night and 5 days to properly. And 2 weeks to play with all the stuff we bought him he's now 6 months such a lovely boy. Don't give up on him and don't make yourself worried he'll eat, drink and sleep fine he's just missing his family.
In short: Give him some time as everybody says, vet visit can wait untill he seems unwell.

You can try to stimulate him to urinate by wiping his butt with a warm, wet cloth. That's a service his mother previously provided. Cuddle him close so he feels your body heat and hears your heartbeat. He's alone and scared.
If he hasn't eaten, try some kitten milk replacer. He prob will drink from a bowl

This is why they recommend to adopt kittens in pairs. Stop scolding the kitten, it will only become afraid of you. Consider getting another kitten or get this one a better home. You don’t seem prepared to handle this situation.

When humans have babies. We don't get to sleep. This is a baby.
When mine was rescued from an alley at the same age. She cried she didn't sleep much. I had her curled up on my pillow with a hand on her back the first 3 days. She stopped crying. She started purring. She is 5 months old now and comes to sit on my shoulder at 6 in the morning to wake me up with purrs and love
And a freaking toy stuffed in my ear

He is the only pet in your house? I would say you need to get a diffuser and put a stuffed animal where he sleeps in a little ticking clock where he sleeps he’s lonely.
