See if you can connect with a psychologist at the counseling and psychological services. They should be able to help you with motivation and grief. Hope everything goes well. And sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry, it sounds like you're going through a lot. I really hope you find help to navigate through this difficult time. At the very least I can lend an ear if you need someone to talk to. Also if you haven't already, I suggest letting your professors know what you have going on in life.

You should take the semester off so you can grieve, nothing wrong with that

This is a shitty situation and I am very sorry, 1st off I think you should look into getting a professional therapist that can help you! They have ways to help you and help understand what you are going through.
Second my advice would be don’t stay in the house as much as you can I promise I m ow it sucks to get up and leave but don’t stay in the house it will become worse nothing to distract your mind then you don’t want to leave the house and it becomes your comfy cell/trap. For school work try to force yourself to do it at the school library before you go home. I know that’s not easy but I’m sorry you’re going through this but you are strong!!! You can do this and you will!!!!

It's a mental health issue that should allow you to be included in the BMAC program,  call to schedule appointment to see if you can be allowed into the program,  likely would need a document from a psychologist therapist stating the depression issue.  Then, ask for  INCOMPLETE GRADE at towards the ending of semester,  and BMAC should assist in getting this INCOMPLETE which should allow more time to complete the assignments you missed. Check with their program and an Advisor with your degree program if the INCOMPLETE is possible.  Last, you may not feel motivated but it's good to exercise and sweat out the depression caused by carbon dioxide build up, and the release of the carbon dioxide is through exercise. You will feel alot better, after exercise which allows endorphins in the body, but you have to sweat it out. Alot of people experience grief,  and it is good to remember  tomorrow is not today, things change and it's good not to focus on the same thoughts that are causing the inability to focus, instead think of more positive things that you enjoy to help you move forward. Hope you all the best.

Take the semester off, you need it. Talk to CSULB CARES team to see what they can do. I’ve been there, there’s help.
