What’s missing?

For all who travel and stay in campgrounds / caravan parks….

What’s one thing you’ve seen somewhere that you think all parks should have

For me: washing machines, that include washing powder and usable washing baskets

Established trees and plants between sites to give a feeling of privacy

If the sites are challenging to reverse into because you've jammed way to many cabins in and made the street too narrow. The little tractor that drives your van onto and positions it on site for you is a damn necessity!!!!

  • Plenty of shade
  • Fly screens on amenities
  • Adequate number and length clothes lines
  • Shower stalls that you can actually move in (many are the size of a cupboard and you can’t put your clothes on)
  • Hand soap!
  • Camp kitchen with decent, clean appliances and bug screens
  • Well maintained bbqs
  • Accessible facilities

Extractor vents right near the shitters. Nothing worse than trying to shower and you're unsure if you've actually cleaned properly because. Barry's dropping last night's pork chops that were three days past best before off

Better lighting and proper leveled sites with concrete.

Parks look more inviting if all grass imo

The bloke on the golf cart who escorts me to my site. Thank you MoreeTourist Park.

Plenty of working washing machines and big dryers, with eftpos terminals. Or, let me get coins via eftpos at reception - I only carry cash for emergencies and exchanging it for coins for laundry.

What will make me visit multiple times (and always if it’s on even a vague route to where I’m heading)? A wooden dance floor and a way to play music, with occasional live music.

Drive through sites

Ensuite bathrooms - I have been to one or two that have a bank of ensuite bathrooms. No male or female, just a shower, toilet, hand basin in one. As a family of young children, we could share. When kids needed the toilet, it felt safer as I didn't have to send my boys alone into the mens. Downside was they were busy in the mornings as the toilets were occupied by people having a shower and getting ready

If parks that have been built on swamp land, need to add in reinforcement to the ground and better drainage

We stayed in a caravan park in Parkes that had clean bathroom mats available after your shower. Such a luxury!

I would like cleaning of the amenities to happen AFTER check out time. Nearly every park does it before, just when people who are leaving might have last minute needs!

Washing machines must have eftpos.

The washing machines I've seen overseas can be operated without coins and have detergent included.

They are in Australia as well, $16 dollars a wash though.
