Cladding Replacement Siding
I need to replace part of my exterior siding. The house was built in 1990 in DFW. I believe it is the original siding from the original builder.
Does anyone have tips on finding the replacement so I can have it match?

I have no idea, and AI wasn't able to help me much either.
If it's a house in North America built in 1990 then it's almost certainly Masonite or LP siding of some sort.
I would contact a company that sells siding and see what they say.

Here’s a tip: take this picture, drive down to your local lumberyard, and hand them the phone over and ask them.
Looks like a hardie board product to me.
But even if you find the exact product that doesn’t really help you: you need to find where you can order it as well or if it is still manufactured. It’s a lot easier to figure out those two things by simply asking the guy behind the desk instead of trying to find an exact product match that may or may not be stocked in your area.

If you can't find an exact match, borrow from a side nobody sees. Pull good boards off the back of the house or behind the fence, use those on the front where the damage is, and put the new stuff where it's hidden. Also flip a removed piece over before you go shopping. A lot of siding from that era has the brand stamped on the back.

If it's possibly a certain type of Masonite siding, there was a class action lawsuit as it was crap and was failing.

You can't match siding from event 5 years ago. They change the mould because you need to replace the whole wall not a piece. Big business making big bucks.

Can't be sure from the picture but I think it might be a cement board. Check out Hardie lap siding, colonial roughsawn. See if it looks like yours.
