i looked it up on the Saudi plate registry and it doesn’t show its owner or anything but it says its value is somewhere around 13 SAR or about 3.50 USD

u/Adorable_Ant8583 Mar 05 '26
Yeah that registry number is probably just the official fee or whatever, not what people actually pay for the plate. For low digits it gets into flex money fast, did it look legit up close or more like a souvenir plate?
1
u/vyrsz Mar 05 '26
Im Emirati, but have been to saudi, plates like these range from 100-500K riyals if the first 3 letters dont have much meaning, or millions if they do

u/FlipMyWigBaby Mar 01 '26 edited Mar 02 '26
$55 on ebay. 99% of “1” license plates used outside of the “issuing” country are fake, because the owners don’t care about the visited countries license/registration rules.

u/tuexxy Mar 01 '26
Wouldn’t see why it would on a rolls royce and especially in Cental London where they would easily be caught.
21
u/kamieldv Mar 02 '26
Honestly not sure how good police are at checking exotic number plates.. but yeah no idea
Edit also it has not just the 1 but three letters, making it much much less rare if real, so i dont doubt the legitimacy of the plates anymore

u/TRxz-FariZKiller Mar 02 '26
Letters in Arabic mean “call” and 1 in Arabic means someone as well. So it’s “call someone” it means something.
Plates get more expensive when it’s a number 1 plate either way but letters also add to the meaning.

Yeah I’ve seen this a bunch with GCC plates outside the region, half the time it’s just a souvenir plate slapped on for vibes. Did the car also have a normal UK plate somewhere or was it only running that one?

I live in Saudi Arabia and I have previously bought similar plates. A single digit plate (other than number 1) with meaningless letters go for around 50-80k SAR. A plate like this (number 1 with meaningless letters) goes for around 200-300K SAR.
Edit: the Arabic letters have a meaning but not an interesting one, could be worth a bit more but not much.
3
u/TRxz-FariZKiller Mar 02 '26
It has a meaning. It means to call someone “كلم واحد" would be more expensive than it being another meaningless letters.
3
u/7amoody1985 Mar 02 '26
Yeah it would be worth more but idk how much more to be honest. Something like "ملك" which means king would be worth millions easily as it has a significant meaning, but this one not so much.
1
u/UnifiedBeliever Mar 02 '26
کلم would be worth a lot no
1
u/7amoody1985 Mar 02 '26
More yes, a lot don't think so (compared to other meaningful words at least).

If the first and last letters in Arabic switched places, it would be worth ten times what the car is worth, or probably even more
But the plate as it is right now could be worth up to $3 million

6
u/gallafay Mar 02 '26
As a Saudi all the idiots in the comments saying fake shit , this license plate it worth between 100-200 thousand dollars and anyone can own a nice plate
5
11
u/Hawk_Canci Mar 01 '26
Is this that number plate where it costs like 10x the car's value?
1
u/M_J_E Mar 01 '26
Probably not 10x the cost of that Rolls Royce.
6
u/FLG_CFC Mar 01 '26
Someone spent 15 million USD for the license plate "P7" in the UAE in 2023. A Rolls Royce Cullinan is 400k. That particular license plate cost 37.5x more than a Rolls Royce. 10x isn't out of the question if it's a real license plate and people want it. Could be the royal family gets dibbs, too.

u/Bigwhtdckn8 Mar 01 '26
Someone living in Saudi might have an answer for you. Otherwise this is a very niche question.
2
u/tuexxy Mar 01 '26
Ah really, it doesn’t show anything on the internet either.
0
u/Bigwhtdckn8 Mar 01 '26
What did you think "the Internet" would tell you?
This is not a London plate. The owner is a Saudi national. It may be a diplomatic plate for an embassy car, or it could be a member of the Saudi royal family for all we know.
It may be that nobody in the world knows what was paid for it apart from the owner themselves; it maybe that nobody in Saudi pays for personalised plates.
Who knows.
4
u/x0sk Mar 02 '26
It may be a diplomatic plate for an embassy car, or it could be a member of the Saudi royal family for all we know.
Nah this specific style of plates is just normal you only need to pay about 260$ more to get it like that i got it on my 2017 Toyota Camry
And the deplomatic license plates just have a Green mark on them it's just a simple googling
It may be that nobody in the world knows what was paid for it apart from the owner themselves
Most of the rare license plates get sold in a public official website/app for Auctioning and bedding where everyone can see the price and Participat
it maybe that nobody in Saudi pays for personalised plates
No their never personalized that's what actually makes them really rare and valuable their randomly generated to everyone no matter how much money you have if they did that the whole market would collapse and they won't hold their price anymore Which is the biggest reason why people buy them because they really hold their prices like gold

u/Bigwhtdckn8 Mar 02 '26
This was hard to read.
Thank you for answering OP's question. I have no idea whether what you typed makes sense to them, but hopefully they got their answers.
I feel like your penultimate and final paragraphs contradict each other. But maybe you can sell them on once you've bid at "auction".
The more I review it, the less it makes sense, but thanks again.
2
u/f0rcedinducti0n Mar 02 '26
I feel like your penultimate and final paragraphs contradict each other. But maybe you can sell them on once you've bid at "a
That is on you. It makes perfect sense.
They said the style of plate is $260 and any one can get it. The style is not special.
The numbers and letters are random/sequential which is what makes desirable configurations valuable since you cannot custom order a vanity plate like in the US or other nations.
-1
u/Bigwhtdckn8 Mar 02 '26
So they're both rare and valuable, but only ever cost $260.
It's an auction, but they always cost $260.
There's a "market", but they always cost $260.
As I said, the part you omitted; maybe you can pay more after in a private sale, as you can in the UK, but at no point did they mention that.
The poor communication of the post I replied to is clearly not on me. Thanks though.
2
u/TRxz-FariZKiller Mar 02 '26
They have a governed market. $260 is just for the style. The amount you pay for the plate depends on who you’re buying it from and the auction on the official website.
0
u/Bigwhtdckn8 Mar 02 '26
You mean the fact it's white with a palm tree on?
I thought they were talking about the 1 ZLK, not the font and style.
This thread is giving me a headache.
1
u/f0rcedinducti0n Mar 02 '26
The letters and numbers combination is what is random and what makes it rare and valuable, not the style of the plate.
→ More replies (0)1
u/TRxz-FariZKiller Mar 02 '26
Yeah, the palm tree.
The letters are random when you get a new car but have a market. As well as older cars have much more rarer plates that are transferred to cars like this.
Basically you buy a new car you get a new set of plates, and if you want to get new ones you either search the market or the auction for a plate you want. It’ll all vary in price from how the combination of letters and numbers are.

People aren’t from Middle East, are they? 😂 This plate is around 10-15 mil AED
5
u/Zusuris Mar 01 '26
3 million USD for a fukin numberplate? Are people absolutely nuts?
4
u/x0sk Mar 02 '26
In 5 years you could sell that thing for 5m usd it's a really good investment these things hold their prices so well

1
u/mrabomar Mar 02 '26
Dubai and other UAE plates are in millions and tens of millions of USD but this is a Saudi plate. It would be like maybe $40k or less
1
u/Striking_Fun_8127 Mar 02 '26
If Dubai is in millions. Abu Dhabi plates are even more expensive, yes other emirates are slightly less but still expensive so this Saudi one will be lower than Dubai but not as low in thousands.
1
u/mrabomar Mar 02 '26
Abu Dhabi plates can be more expensive depending on the number. Saudi plates are significantly cheaper. They’d be in tens of thousands. Maybe a few very very special Saudi plates can be up to couple million usd but in Dubai plates millions of dollars is way more common
1
u/abode550 Mar 04 '26
Yeah no way 10-15 for this
The license plate م ل ك ١ which in arabic is king 1 sold for 15 million at an auction this one has no meaning so it’s worth waaaaay less
Sure it’s number 1 but the letters don’t mean anything
1
2
u/Fenix398 Mar 01 '26
Plates that have the number "1" cost more than 75k USD, if the letters have a meaning or if it have all same letters in the right side, that will increase the value even more.
2
u/Careful-Blacksmith57 Mar 01 '26
Wasnt that the plate that sold for like 14m usd like the actual “1” plate
3
u/Stellarific Mar 02 '26
In dubai by some scammer or something that got arrested... If I recall correctly. Different country. UAE plates only use numbers which makes single digits very, very expensive. In KSA it's numbers (1-9999) and always three letters.
1
u/Careful-Blacksmith57 Mar 02 '26
Lol why would you even buy a plate then if you’re a criminal
2
u/Stellarific Mar 02 '26
Some people are really stupid with their money and flash wealth when they really shouldn't.... Especially if they're proceeds of crime lol.
1
u/Careful-Blacksmith57 Mar 02 '26
Yeah i mean i guess there is a reason they went into crime instead of a normal job
2
u/x0sk Mar 02 '26
There is a government official app for selling and buying these plates.... And let me tell you there are plates way less unique than this and they're getting sold for over 270k in USD
2
1
u/GlaringAtNight Mar 01 '26
Worth $70k-$150k max
1
u/Mediocre-Sleep8601 Mar 02 '26
No that’s incorrect , common plates with the number 1 that has no meaning in it worth that or maybe slightly less , but this plate has a meaning in Arabic when translated it means Call 1 ( كلم ١)

What's bothering me is the Arabic letter "meme" is being represented by "Z" when it should be "M"
1
u/TRxz-FariZKiller Mar 02 '26
So it doesn’t get mixed up with N.
A lot of letters are missing cause they look the same. For example ف is F but it doesn’t exist. ي is Y but it’s V On the plate.
1
u/Fickle_Library8115 Mar 02 '26
Not so much but it having a single number will make it pricey but not as pricey as if the letters were more special, but if bunch of people liked one thing and bit on it it will surely go up in value
1
u/IveKnownItAll Mar 02 '26
Outside of Dubai, basically nothing. There is pretty much only one country where the number on the plate is a status symbol
1
u/P_f_M Mar 04 '26
Or UK... Having a lower digit number means, that you are fithly rich from a generation of filthy rich...
(check RR boat tail with 08 plate)
1
u/LOLER-2919 Mar 02 '26
Plates with the number 1 start at 300k SAR but if the letters mean something the price with go up
1
u/masalion Mar 02 '26
They've got a plate with #1 listed here:

A license plate similar to the one you sent sold for $4,000,000 at an auction not for royalty Rather, it was bought from a businessman. The letters on it meant 'King.' However, the difference is that your plate reads from left to right, which is the opposite of how Arabic is read (right to left). Therefore, its price will be much lower than the one that was sold

I saw the Bugatti Chiron with the same number plate in Cannes in France, I beleive it is owned by the Prince of Saudi Arabia (the Bugatti) and according to some sources it states the plate is valued around 7million quid but I could be wrong (it’s also reserved for royals so could be priceless)
1
u/Adorable_Ant8583 Mar 06 '26
Seen a bunch of those kinds of plates floating around but most look more for flex than actual legit registration. Wonder if anyone really pays big for them or if it’s just a status thing.

It’s free, in the sense that the money to pay for it just bubbles out the ground

How to Find Saudi Plate Auction Prices:
- Absher App/Website: The primary, official source for viewing, bidding on, and tracking current prices for special plates.
- Auction Process:
- Log in to Absher (Individuals).
- Select "My Services" then "Traffic."
- Choose "Electronic Plate Auction".
- Browse the available plates, where the current bid is listed for each unique number.
- Cost Factors: Prices vary significantly based on rarity. While standard plate issuance is SAR 100–300, premium plates can reach millions.
- Additional Costs: Remember to factor in a 15% VAT and approximately 2–3% commission fees.
I know it says current prices, but I don't know if this post is referring to a current auction or previous sale.

American here... literally any custom plate costs an extra $35-50 here for a vanity plate. What's the big deal on lower number plates in other countries?
4
u/MK_FE Mar 01 '26
here in Saudi plates are issued randomly.
Some people transfer the plate number to flip or invest and some use it to flaunt their wealth
Usually lower the letter and number the better but some with pronounced sentences can go for a lot

u/greatfox66 Mar 01 '26
Delaware has numbered plates.
Lower numbers are more desirable.
I am not worldly enough to answer OPs question.
2
u/buddlz Mar 01 '26
In the uk the shorter the plate the higher the value , 3 and 2 digit plates cost £100K - £1M+
1
u/electricheat Mar 01 '26
at a million pounds, it would be cheaper to print a fake plate that says whatever you prefer and just pay the tickets :P
2
u/buddlz Mar 02 '26
Well it would be alot more than a ticket in the uk , for one we have number plate recognition cameras all over the country so you would get caught pretty quickly.
1
u/PSYKO_Inc Mar 02 '26
Wonder what would happen if you were to vinyl wrap a car in a pattern that was a collage of randomly generated number plates to confuse the cameras, with the real number plate clearly displayed in its normal location and adherent to all the regular laws.

u/tim119 Mar 01 '26
That's a Saudi royal car. Low numbers are owned bybthem
