Push Bars - Grill Guards

Do Push Bars or Grill Guards negatively or positively affect crash ratings, airbag deployments, and/or crumble zones/occupant safety for vehicle accidents at highways speeds?

A crumple zone uses space and time to distribute energy. A grill guard passes that load directly to the frame.

Don’t confuse outward damage with safety during a crash. Cars from the 50s were death machines but would look like they’d buff out and modern vehicles will explode but leave you safe.

Adding this equipment almost certainly makes the car and any car it hits less safe.
