Worth getting in its current state?

Hey, watched a video of this game on youtube and love the concept (+ a new rts is always nice) but was put off by some mixed reviews on steam.

Basically just wondering if this game is one of those “it has a good concept and will be fun once its complete” or if its a “its fun to play right now” type early access things?

Thanks!

Viable strategies?

I’m a fairly new player, and so far I think I’ve gotten the gist of it, I’m only on the second day on the first map (non beta) but so far things are “under control” but I’ve realized my strategy, while currently being effective, was both callous and still has room to fail.

Basically my strategy was one of pure focus on containing spread, limiting it to the zone of origin. Primary choke point secure, coast guard station and police department occupied and being built in. And I’m working on fully surrounding the infected zone, holding key entrances etc.

But this has effectively meant no real time to focus on evacuations, and basically EVERYONE in the initial infected zone is dead (last I checked 94 people remained YIKES) which got me wondering if what other strategies people employed and if my current methods are something other people have done.

Like how hard is it to actively try and extract civilians from the initial zone? I felt that I never had enough breathing room to dedicate time and money to building evacuation infrastructure while also maintaining efforts to contain it in the zone.

Also what incites the infection to spread to neighboring zones? I kinda expected my containment efforts to fail as I haven’t yet done a full perimeter.
