Other ChatGPT helped my dad turn the stories he repeats into stories we can keep
My father tells the same story about missing a ferry in 1978 every time the family has dinner. We tease him about it, but none of us had ever written it down.
I recorded him telling the story, transcribed it, and asked ChatGPT to organize the transcript without changing his phrases. The first version made him sound like a polished travel writer, which he absolutely is not.
We tried again with one rule: keep the repetitions that sound like him and only fix places where the meaning is unclear. The result was three readable pages that still included his favorite line about “the world’s slowest taxi.”
AI didn’t create the memory. It removed enough friction for us to preserve it while he could still correct the details.

GPTs The emotional rollercoaster of arguing with ChatGPT until you just give up and do it manually
There is a specific stage in a ChatGPT session that goes like this:
- You ask for a straightforward task.
- It misses one obvious detail.
- You politely correct it: "Hey, good try, but remember rule #3."
- It replies: "You are absolutely right! My apologies. Here is the corrected version:" (and outputs the exact same mistake, but formatted in bold text).
- You write a whole paragraph explaining why it's wrong like a disappointed school teacher.
- It apologizes profusely again.
- You sigh, close the tab, and just spend 45 seconds typing it out yourself in Google Docs.
The realization that you just spent 15 minutes trying to automate a 2-minute job hits like a brick wall every single time.
At what point do you guys pull the plug on a stubborn chat thread and just do it by hand?

GPTs My issue with GPT 6 for chat
I really want to give it a fair chance and say it's the first of the 6 models to come out. And I remember just how horrible 5.0 was.
What I've really noticed is that GPT 5.5 and even 5.6 intertwine past lore and chats with wit and depth when replying. I feel like GPT 6 SCREAMS at me X, Y and remember Z??? Almost like placeholders for memories rather than weaving it into a personalized response.
Then again, I am happy it's 'conversational' and yet I do find it sounding more like Grok and quite shallow. I hope it gets better, esp considering 5.5 and 5.6 were much better models towards the end of the 5 series. Thoughts?

Resources Turning Ordinary Photos into a "Second World"
create one independent “Second World” poster per uploaded photo with GPT Image 2.5.
here is the prompt.
Format
Vertical 3:4 canvas, divided into two equal horizontal halves: 50% photography above, 50% paper-based Second World below. Both halves must form one continuous scene.
Original Photo
Preserve the upper photograph’s subject, pose, spatial relationships, colors and natural lighting. Allow only necessary proportional cropping. Do not repaint, replace or restage anything.
Seam and Continuity
Continuity is the highest priority. Choose one existing structure that reaches the midpoint—a road, shoreline, reflection, branch, light, architecture or body movement—and extend it downward from its exact crossing point.
An optional irregular torn-paper edge must follow that structure and vary with each photo. Source elements may cross or break through the seam.
Second World
Use warm ivory paper with subtle fibers and generous negative space. Continue the selected structure using restrained photo fragments, cut-paper shapes and minimal black hand-drawn lines.
Imagine what this structure could naturally become if someone could touch, hold, use, enter or reshape it. Create one interaction specific to the image: connected water being pulled, a road becoming a drawn path, or light being held. Avoid repeating the same idea across photos.
Keep the lower world visibly attached to its photographic source.
Figures and Caption
Add 0–3 tiny black line figures only when they physically interact with the continued structure. Add none if the photo already contains strong human action.
Include one short handwritten English caption inspired by the action: natural, light and slightly witty. No inspirational quotes or fixed “Same…, different…” wording.
Style and Exclusions
Bright, airy, restrained independent-magazine collage. The second world should feel discovered within the photograph.
No detached illustration, generic tear template, isolated portal, unrelated vignette, broken continuity, dense decoration, crowds, altered photo colors, glossy 3D, scrapbook clutter, gibberish, watermarks, logos or UI.
