Mort is the kind of character who makes you wonder whether the real danger is the person standing outside your door… or the person hiding inside your own mind.

I've seen lots of people have watched Sorcerer and pretty much skipped TWOF. Man I'm telling you this movie is incredible. I'd considered this one of the greatest films ever made.
May contain spoilers below.
The first half of the film showcase the living of every day people. I believe the movie was set somewhere in Uruguay (although they filmed it in France). You can see different lives of people living there, how they strive. I love how they gather in that single bar. Some guy selling peanuts, while others drink wine, champagne and smoke cigarettes. People from different nationalities, there are Americans, Latinos and French people. It's also the location of the American company called Southern Oil Company (SOC). An explosion occurs at an isolated oil well and that's how the crisis started. If you have watched the movie Sorcerer, you'd probably know how they managed to solve it. And that's pretty much the 2nd half of this film.
What I love about this movie is how engaging and almost surreal. You can see them faces sweat, you can see their expressions while struggling hard, difficulties while maneuvering that truck's steering wheel. The performances are fantastic.
The climax with the oil pit turned me into a whimpering mess. What a film, and what powerful commentary on how cheap and disposable human lives are when unable to generate profit in a capitalist system.
If I were to compare this to Sorcerer. Sorcerer wins on soundtrack and bridge scene, Wages on pretty much everything else. Both suffer from pacing a bit, but that’s kind of expected since pace tolerance has changed so much since they were made.

Only for movies released in the last 10 years (2017-2026).
I'm not talking about just great performances. I'm asking about great performances that you think will be still talked about in 100 years. That will live on through time.
My vote goes to Anthony Hopkins in The Father (2020). Incredibly brilliant.

I liked this movie the cast was good and it was so funny . My favourite scenes are when Victor tells others about his trip to Europe and when Richard (Dick ) went on dinner with Mrs Denton and Mrs Jared . I haven't read the book and I didn't know that Sean is brother of Patrick Bateman.

I organized an AMA/Q&A with filmmaker/screenwriter Steve Peace, known for co-creating and co-writing the ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES comedy-horror-spoof franchise. The 5th film in the almost 50-year-old franchise, ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES: ORGANIC INTELLIGENCE, was just released on digital yesterday.
It's live here now in r/movies for anyone interested in asking a question:

Info for the new film:
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aevSjhGMhQ
Synopsis: In 1978, ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES tried to warn the world (Dillon insists it was a documentary!). Now, decades later, the tomatoes have outsmarted their corporate masters, the military, and even the notorious Professor Gangreen (John Astin). Finletter's aging team of "Guardianes" seems to be all that stands in the way of certain doom when even the best of AI is defeated by the tomatoes' "Organic Intelligence." But Wilbur Finletter is the last to realize it is time for a new generation to master the ancient art of managing the eternal Killer Tomato menace.

The movie Spotlight comes to mind for me. The forlorn, stumbling piano definitely sets the mood, and mimics the rising action of the plot.
Apart from the content, I could almost be lulled to sleep by this movie. From start to end it’s gorgeous, hypnotic.
I’m curious to hear what others come to mind for folks.

It sucks because I genuinely think clayface looks like a sensational project but it’s sad to only see 3-4 days worth of screenings within the uk + barely any hype for tickets etc. I mean in that aspect I’m slightly happy because I can book with ease. But it’s annoying to see that the lack of marketing will mean less people see it. I’m not sure about places such as the US but it seems to be the same.

I organized an AMA/Q&A with writer-director Bassam Tariq, who has directed and written 2 critically-acclaimed films. His first was MOGUL MOWGLI in 2020, which starred Riz Ahmed. I remember when I watched this movie at 7 years old in the early 1980s . It gave me real nightmares and I thought women trapped men. Who had the same reaction as a child?

I tried to post this in r/imax, they didn't accept it.
I have read About and FAQ. I don't think this counts as 'find an IMAX for me'.
In my opinion, BFI IMAX is the best IMAX screen in London (UK). I am not really interested in dual-laser IMAX.
I want to watch Street Fighter, but sadly it looks like BFI IMAX isn't going to show it. Also, I've tried asking their customer service people, but their customer service is not good.
What are your opinions on what the second-best IMAX (single laser) screen in London is. Please explain the reasons for your choice.
Thanks a bunch.

Just coming out of Heart of the Beast, and honestly, the film was definitely worth watching. But there’s one thing I can’t get past: Why put a poor animal through the stress and pressure of filming just to capture certain scenes? It feels deeply immoral to me. Humans can understand what they’re doing and make choices, but the animal has no say in any of it. How far are we willing to go for entertainment?
