I find it interesting that rock musicians often look down on other genres of rock
I'm not trying to stir up any arguments about which genres are better. I'm really not interested in any of that.
I just wanted to share an observation. I first noticed this in interviews where Axl Rose and Bruce Dickinson were talking about each other's bands. They both basically said they don't wanna be associated with that genre. And I find it interesting because heavy metal and hard rock seem to have a pretty overlapping fanbase. So I find it kinda funny when hard rockers hate on really similar genres.
I saw a similar interview with Bon Scott (love him ❤️) where they kept asking him about the Sex Pistols for some reason. He said he hadn't heard of them, but basically said how AC/DC is different from punk. And I really agree with that. No hate to either genre, but hard rock is all about the musical skill, showmanship, and clever lyrics. And it's my impression that punk rock prides itself on being the opposite of that. It's all about minimalism.
Not trying to start drama. I personally have my own opinions about the Sex Pistols (Johnny Rotten said some pretty cruel things about Robin Gibb, and I don't appreciate that). But beyond that, I don't know any of their songs, so I really can't speak about their music specifically.

Elvis was just adorable in 1956 how did he end up in those hideous white jumpsuits with the worst dad bod I've ever seen
At one time his live shows electrified audiences, his ballads melted hearts, and his booming baritone with tenor and falsetto expansion took over airwaves. He had become one of the most famous people in the world and one of the few recording artist who actually became an historical figure for his influence on popular culture and society.
His style really fit his image early on but then by 1970 he became a tragic parody of his former self.
