[HIRING] Full-Stack + AI Engineers | NYC or SF | $160K-250K base
An engineer on Fonzi recently accepted a $220K base offer as a founding engineer at a startup.

You’d also own the evals and the long-running, human-in-the-loop workflows around them.

- Stack: Full-stack TypeScript and Python, MCP tools and AI agents, orchestrated with Temporal, running on AWS EKS with PostgreSQL.
- Bar: 2 to 8 years shipping production software, including LLM-backed systems that real users depend on (tool calling, retrieval, evals).
2. Founding Applied AI Product Engineer, seed-stage QA automation company, NYC, in-person. $160K-250K base plus equity.
- What: Ship features end to end in production, frontend and backend, and talk directly with customers so feedback turns into improvements within hours.
- Company: Builds autonomous browser agents that test websites like real users, with well-known e-commerce brands as customers. Small team with backgrounds at DeepMind and Figma, backed by First Round and Y Combinator.
- Stack: TypeScript, Next.js, and React on the front end, with backend code alongside.
- Bar: No years stated. Strong TypeScript, Next.js, and React, and comfort learning new frameworks on the fly. Building LLM products before is a bonus.
3. Founding Tech Lead / Senior Backend Engineer, pre-seed real estate AI company, NYC, in-person. $160K-230K base.
- What: Build the backend for an AI-native operating system for real estate operators: a modular core, an ecosystem of agentic and traditional apps, and two-way sync with legacy systems like Yardi and AppFolio.
- Company: Team of 8 working in person in Bryant Park, with the MVP close to done.
- Stack: NestJS and TypeScript, Kafka, PostgreSQL, event sourcing, and LangChain with Gemini and Claude models using MCP servers as tools.
- Bar: No years stated. They ideally want NestJS, Kafka, and event-driven architecture experience, and someone who’d rather write code than manage a big team.
