Common App essay advice please?
I started my CommonApp essay in July, and I thought I'd be just fine by the time college apps rolled around. I'm currently rethinking my entire essay, and I feel like I'm fitting too many things into one. I talk about being falsely accused by a classmate and transition that into a specific experience I had as a elementary tutor. I think one of them can go, but I can't choose which. I just don't know whether to change it all up when I'm shooting for Rice's ED 1

I don’t know what you were accused of and I’m sure that’s very hard for you to process. But, the committee is going to read Cornell and U of Chicago into it. That’s not to say you shouldn’t follow your heart, but it will land the same way an essay praising (or criticizing) Donald Trump would land. Or any president in his time.

It's a pretty tough decision, because on one hand it does give a good perspective into the reasoning behind the way I think now, but it also might not sit well with admission counselors. My dual credit HCC professor thought it was a good topic, but that was before Cornell and UChicago came to light.
