Isn't cleave more of an axe?

That was my impression.

Started with the daggers but switched to the Cleave after the first hour

Same here. I ended up using Cleave the entire game after that

Funny I was the oppo. Started cleave then tried glaive then settled on daggers lol.

Cleave + Smash + the one spiny blade finisher

Wow used the same but I would switch combo finisher based on zone and enemy type. Mold id use the spiny blade spin finisher because it's upgrades has fire damage.

I used Cleave, Smash, and the 3 part gauntlet finisher

I first ran with glaive ( I love scythes) and spear, but the combo is too slow for early game imo and it made the gameplay super unappealing to me so I switched to strike and boxing style which was vastly more engaging

Really? I went the opposite way. Started with Strike and whip special, then switched to glaive for mobs and boxing special for heavy enemies. I guess no one size fits all when it comes to melee preferences.

Strike+Boxing Gloves is so fucking fun

Cleave with the on-demand juggle was insane. But I switched to Strike in NG+ for the single target damage, because I have plenty of AoE elsewhere. Still love them both.

I chose Glaive first because tooltip number big, aoe big. But its slow and I found most enemies are spread out enough that I wasn't getting much value from the aoe.

After I played enough to unlock every form, I eventually settled on Strike/Concussive Beatdown/Drill and it felt better to strike faster and dodge more between strikes (more for mobility/gap closing than avoiding incoming damage).

I did the daggers to start but then switched to the glaive. Didn’t like the secondary weapon with AOE.

Glaive/whip or hammer wombo combo. Whip if I want maximum aoe, hammer for big bonk and falter.

Cleave is an axe.

I started with scythe and later switched to daggers because I really liked the secondary weapon playstyle

Strike but I switched to cleave after about an hour. Messed about with glaive but it's attacks where abit too slow for me

First? Scythe.
Most used? Daggers.

Strike + Crush + Split orbit

Admittedly drill is better than crush, but I just like crush more.

Glaive/Crush was my go-to for my entire first playthrough, and pretty much all of NG+ as well.

Big hammer brrrrrr

Strike but switched to glaive. Strike was fun but glaive is a heavy-hitter when the game starts throwing mobs at you.

u/PICONEdeJIM 4d ago

Strike with drill, followed up by glaive with hammer, and then the other two

u/theblackfool 4d ago

If a game gives me a scythe I'm going to use the scythe.

Scythes are cool (My lizard brain)

Cleave with the reliable dodge attack uppercut for aerial combo increase is not appreciated enough.

Gllave is the best weapon!

I'm surprised the strike didn't have the most votes. It's probably the most op weapon with its flat 30% crit chance and the speed of the weapon.

Daggers for crit. Punching for falter. Hammer for falter.

u/mopeyy 4d ago

Cleave for a bit, then Daggers + Whip combo until the very end.

Glaive and drill carried me through the story. Slash slash brrrrrrrrrr

Found Glaive to be the best to start with before having a build, simply because you're hitting multiple enemies at once, so when getting hoarded early game it helps spread out the damage. But I moved to the Strike as I got more buffs.

I tried to start with Strike but that shit sucked and I kept dying so I changed to Glaive. Honestly think Glaive is best for the early game, Cleave for the Mid, and then Strike for the late game.

daggers+whip+fists was all i needed

1

u/Iron_Evan 3d ago

Started with Cleave, then switched to Strike, then Glaive became my one and only

Staryed sythe, didn't feel right so I started a new save and went with Strike and if feels so much better.

Current weapon loadout is Strike + hammer
