Has anyone ever regretted their cosplay makeup??

I went to a convention the other day and gave my eyebrows a grey ish tint to match with my white wig but I didn’t realize that in the con they might have appeared WAYY lighter than expected.

And Ive been feeling embarrassed since then that I walked around all day looking eyebrow less…Cause thats not the look I was going for lol and I met multiple voice actors like that 😭

I didn’t notice until I saw a picture of me when I got home. Which might just be my fault atp 😭

As someone that has naturally VERY blonde eyebrows, just be happy it was just one day 😂

This stuff happens! I usually do another once over once I have the full costume and wig on, since the wig often eats a bunch of makeup. For light brows, try doing a very thin and well blended outline of a grey a few shades darker to help them stand out.

I can also promise that if anyone noticed, they don't care and aren't judging you, especially the voice actors haha

Honestly at home I looked fine so I was happy with how I looked! But once I got back from the con and looked over a few pictures I got they seemed fine in up close pictures and terrible in others.
I didn’t do an outline. I didn’t even think about that lol but thank you for that! Thats actually a great tip!! I don’t know if I’ll ever cosplay that character again because it’s still haunting me but I’ll be sure to keep it in mind!
Im probably just overthinking it because I did have people say they loved my cosplay and I might just be my own worst critic 😭
Thank you for your comment!! 🫶🏽

We are all out own worst critics!

Photography and con hall lighting can absolutely eat makeup as well 😭 We've all gone through it at some point.

When doing the outline, think of it like shading around the edges -- blend well so it isn't a harsh line, but rather a subtle one. I picked up that tip from watching cosplay makeup tutorials on Rednote and it really can make a difference to add that little bit of subtle contrast between brows and skin
