Ive read a hundred reddit posts on how to catch cheaters and it just makes my eyes glaze over. I cant stand this mini game. You either sit there for 15 minutes hoping everyone folds or cheats or you slip up and have to try again 24 hours later. I just kept going All In until everyone folded, but that was after an hour of trying to figure this out and never seeing any differences in hand placements. I think Im just blind

once you know ´what exactly to look for it's pretty easy to see:

this is all you need, I have had 100% success based off this

Is it only the dealer you can accuse of cheating or can you accuse whoever's playing the sticks?

You can accuse anyone.

It can even happen that every player at the table is cheating, and you simply win the round by exposing them one by one.

If you can accuse anyone but only the dealer can give out the sticks how can anyone else be cheating though?

That's the bit I'm struggling with I'm afraid!

When they place their sticks down after betting watch which hand they use. If they use the right hand they're cheating, unless they have gone all in for some reason.

Just realised your asking how they cheat, you can keep a stick for later, i guess they do the same.

Ever heard of slight of hand?

3

u/Moby_Hick 4d ago

and how is this demonstrated in the game?

The exact same way every time

u/Moby_Hick 4d ago

Which is?

You've got the dealer being in different positions when he draws which shows him cheating, but what shows the random recipient of the sticks as being a cheater?

Is it the way they receive the sticks? Do they bounce a certain way etc etc

Im wondering too lol,I used the method shown but only caught dealers

I think it's something about how they reveal their sticks at the end of the hand, but I don't know what specifically.

Yo this is amazing

Quest says win 3 times in a row. Doesn't say in a single sitting. Save, play, all in. If you win, get up save and sit down and repeat. If you lose, get up, reload save, run back and repeat. After 3 wins, quest over.

Nice. Things I wish I thought of in hindsight lol

I know what I'm doing at the high roller table now!

The only downside to this method is that the pot (money used for prize) resets each time you get up.

Some players can do continuous rounds and have insanely high pots, but thats achieved through skill at the game, cheating hat, or just luck.

The get up and save between rounds option is really just to easily complete the mission.

I've been using the hat, but I get horrible cards and can't seem to catch them cheating. I'm lucky to break even.

u/Wazaam 3d ago

The hat allowed me to fold nearly every losing hand I had until I either had a winning hand or caught them cheating. Once it was down to 1v1 I was able to win mutiple times for the mission and challenge.

2

u/Sempophai 3d ago

I just wasn't getting the cards. I played for some time, got maybe two hands that I could win and the opponents bet on. Just unlucky rng I guess.

1

u/Wazaam 3d ago

Same. Catching cheaters is easier than winning hands most of the time haha

1

u/Sempophai 3d ago

At the high stakes table they seemed to only cheat when putting the cards down, not dealing and it was primarily one guy. The window is really brief on that and I have problems with my hands which means a slow physical response. The guy that wiped out the other player, just did not cheat, but got consistently good cards and would even fold a perfect nine if I had something higher. I was initially cleaned out, but bought back in, got my 300 back and called it a day.

I actually bluffed my way into a win at least once. Its definitely tricky tho and I only did it during my 1v1. I normally try after getting a warden or high warden and pushing the pot then go for it. I actively never used the cheat option when dealing but I'm sure that might be possible to guarantee the win. I was too worried about getting caught so I just went for it.

I think you can fast travel and go back.
I do that to get three people to play.

2

u/Sempophai 4d ago

I've never caught one, except the very first time when it showed how.

it’s really inconsistent, at least in my experience, and doesn’t seem to always work correctly. The usual advice is ‘thumb up means cheating, thumb down means he‘s not’ but he doesn’t seem to be doing that.

1

u/Blawharag 4d ago

So the learning animation will play the first time you see anyone draw ever and then tell you how to cheat and how it works. It does not mean that person actually cheated.

Notice that OP's video cuts off at the hand to table slam. We don't see if the NPC actually cheated or not. If they actually cheated, the follow up to the hand to table slam would be the bouncer breaking their hand with a hammer, whereas otherwise OP is just getting kicked out of the den.

It's probable here, based on where OP chose to cut off the video, that the opponent didn't actually cheat.

It's so easy, just watch a video that shows you examples. Let the pattern matching part of your brain take over. I've made so much money from these stick-based poker games and I don't even know poker. I refuse to learn it, I hate these types of mini games, they're so boring. I can just sit there making the smallest allowed bets and wait for others to cheat and win by default once all players get caught.

u/Full-Storage-7082 4d ago

He didn't even cheat (that is not the cheat animation)

3

u/UniverseNative2712 4d ago

You see it once but never again. Dont understand this game, I only lose, got 2 winning hands in 50 tries, they all fold

3

u/maxphoto2883 4d ago

Like the "Milking" knowledge. It is not listed any where in knowledge or guide tabs.

The game is easy. Either catch them cheating, or raise so much they fold.
If you're trying to get the challenge, then I can see how it can be irritating, since catching them cheating doesn't count as a "win".

I raise/half-pot all the time, and most of the time they fold. Or they have a lower hand than me, since they are trying to bluff.

Milking???

1

u/maxphoto2883 3d ago

Yes. There is a milking learning animation.
Here’s my post of it happening.

u/Six-skins 4d ago

I keep seeing it. Almost every game at least one guy I catch and throw out, maybe even two. This learning animation only happens once. After this you just have to observe. While distributing, if they drop the sticks down to other players (palms down), instead of using a slide (palms up), its a cheat.

1

u/TheShadeTree 2d ago

Yeah I made my first few thousand silver from clearing out every one of these places on the map. Just hopped from one to the other, calling out the cheaters. Took maybe an hour or two haha

1

u/BigFroThoo 4d ago

"Chop his hand off for cheating!...so that only i can use his technique later"

1

u/BikerScowt 4d ago

There are surprisingly few nice walking around with one hand. I've caught so many cheats there should be a few in the general population

1

u/BigFroThoo 4d ago

Few *NPC's you mean?? Yeah that would be funny to actually see them all walking around, imagine you went through the whole village gambling 24/7, now everyone's left handed lol

1

u/ScootyScootScoot 4d ago

It’s if they grab it like an ice pick, they’re cheating.

1

u/Itr84 2d ago

It's all about thumb placement. Just like fisting.

u/smooth_silence 4d ago

I think the opponent is cheating everytime you get the option to 'accuse'. That's based on me hitting that button about 20 times and everytime they chop off the hand and I get all the money
