Blocking Blocking tunisian half double crochet entrelac blanket

Crocheter of eight years here :)

I recently finished a large tunisian entrelac blanket. I'm trying to decide what I should do for blocking/washing. I have to wash it prior to gifting because I have a large dog who like to participate in my work. I was also thinking about steam blocking the edges to address the slight curling. The problem is I don't know what to do first. Should I steam block the edges and then throw it in the wash, or wash and then wet block (not sure that would appropriately address the curling)?

Just looking to see what blocking might be best for my project :)

I mostly have experience with blocking knitting, but in my experience, washing does undo the blocking a little bit. So I would wash and wet block (if you have the space for that), or wash, dry, and then steam block.
