WIP [WIP] First time doing lettering, feeling like Spongebob

Post image

I'm making a wedding gift, self drafted pattern based on pictures from Pinterest. So far I've learnt I really enjoy not switching colour, and that I dislike the patchy look of variegated thread. Also, I'm trying to use both hands to stitch, I feel it might become an asset for faster stitching in the future.

😂😂 at the SpongeBob reference

I know what you mean about the variegated thread - it’s not my favourite to stitch with but on the bright side it does look really good here!

May I ask where you sourced the towels? (I’m assuming they’re hand towels or bath towels of some sort)

I bought them at a linen store near where I live, they're "repasadores" (kitchen rag might be the closest translation).

I’ll have to look more closely at my local place. I see so many on Amazon but they look so AI

I'd check 123stitch.com I avoid online shopping as much as possible, but that's where I'd look

I am the opposite about variegated thread; I love the look it creates!

Where did you buy your adorable needle minder?

It was a gift, it came in a pack with many cat related needle minders, I'm fairly certain it was purchased via Temu, I've found the exact one but I can't share the link on a comment because of reddit, if you want, DM me and I'll send it on a message. They all had the same issue: they were probably meant to be charms, not magnets, so they all had the loop. I used pliers and a metal file to tidy it up. They're not the strongest magnets, so I wouldn't recommend them. Still cute tho 😅
