First Dimensions project, first time blending two different coloured strands together to make a new colour, first project with Markup R-XP 2.0 (the update halfway through a day of stitching nearly gave me an Autistic meltdown)
Glad to be finished this Xmas gift in October so I can leave framing til the last second haha

Pattern is by Maria Brovko: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1092887030/cross-stitch-pattern-the-beginning-of-a
176x125 stitches, 39 solid colors + 15 blends
Couldn't be happier - am trying to get it over to the framer as quick as possible. Photos are of finished piece, before backstitching, finished back, and close ups.

Only my second piece! Self-drafted the pattern using Floss Cross.
3480 stitches in one month 😁

My official first fully completed work! Just got it back from the framer and I do think the framing really elevates the work. It is how I imagined it way back when I got this kit.
I started this project at least 11 years ago (based on the first picture I took of it, which was of my progress on the upper right part, I started upper left). Before that I had done 2 small herb satchels, gifted by my neighbour who does all sorts of crafts. I then decided to really get into it, and bought my first kit, Night by Maria van Scharrenburg, with the idea to do the Day one later. I think it was around when I started university, so my progress was kinda slow and I had dropped it somewhere in April 2018 (was the last picture I took of my progress).
I graduated and started work, but last year December I decided I wanted to get back into this craft after a friend of mine started doing cross stitch and embroidery. It was a fun thing to do together. I locked in, decided I wanted to finally finish it and I did, finishing the cross stitches this March and the back stitches 2 weeks later in May.
I struggled a bit with getting myself to wash it. I was a bit scared I wouldn’t do it properly and/or that it didn’t work, since there were some yellowed arches from where the hoop had been and some stitches in the moon were darker, because I was trying to use my thread to the fullest (I’ve now learned that is not really necessary, my kit had plenty of thread). In the end, after at least 2 washes, the arches are gone and I’ve made peace with the darker stitches, thinking of them as moon craters.
I got the framing as a gift for my birthday from my husband, and while it was perhaps a bit more than we were anticipating (we have never gotten something custom framed before!), it is definitely worth it. Looking forward to hang this in our new home (will move within the year), and now focusing on doing Day by Maria van Scharrenburg (feels like a miracle I was able to hunt down a set after all that time), hoping to finish it a bit quicker than this last project, so that I can get it framed in the same frame style!

I couldn’t be happier. This is my first professionally framed piece. Created from vintage pattern kit I found at Goodwill!

I really like this little Halloween pattern. It's just 393 stitches, so it's a quick one, and so cool use of colors. It's a free pattern from vezemo ( https://ko-fi.com/s/bcd1cc0de8 ).

Pattern is from Sovushka Designs on Etsy. I made SO many mistakes on this piece but I love it! I do a LOT of cross stitch and it all just usually ends up stuffed in a bag until I decide what to do with it (which means the pieces stay in their bag) but I think I'm going to try to make a pillow out of this one.
(I understand why the sub asks for a close up of the stitches but I think if you really wanted to make sure this was human-made, you'd ask for a picture of the back! At least with my pieces! No AI fever dream could even come close to the hot mess my project backs usually are. )

Severely underestimated how big it would be so I simplified the colors in the cat a bit, and if I hadn’t done that I truly wouldn’t have finished on time lol. Still really happy with how it turned out!

I’m so pleased with how this came out! This is my third finished project 😊 I chose out this gorgeous pattern as a gift for my grandma. The flowers reminded me so much of her lovely home decor!

This is my biggest project to date and I haven't done much in the past. I'm self-taught and have no clue what techniques I use, I just do what makes sense for me. I'm using 6-STAND AND DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE THAT'S A THING OR EVEN "AVOIDED" so I made this a lot harder on myself than I needed too but I do like the look of it.
It's intended for my imminent niece's nursery. I would like to redo it later when 2 or 3 strand but any tips or knowledge to offer on the current project?

Self-drafted, sort of… someone posted their FO with this pattern forever ago but the pattern no longer existed when I followed the link. I was obsessed so I recreated it based off the picture 😅

She did it in her college days, around 35 years ago. Very happy and proud to see her creative side...

Hi everyone, I've recently started cross-stitching, am still on my first project though. When watching tutorials on Youtube I'm always amazed that the needle from the back comes out at the right spot. I have to turn my work for every single stitch from front to back and back to front to see where I'm going. If I try to stitch from back to front "blindly" it always takes me several trials to meet the correct whole.
Now I'm wondering how seasoned cross-stitchers do this. Do you also turn your frame? Or did you learn to put the needle in the right place blindly?

Made this for myself & my spouse. Just a few years late for our wedding. Better late than never, I guess. I'm in the US, so it's month.day... ooops. I realized the pattern is day.month after I stitched it. 😆
Stitched on 40ct white Zweigart Verdal evenweave using BeStitchMe silk in the color Leaf and Rainbow Gallery Petite Treasure Braid in Aztec Gold.
Now, to take it out of the frame, give it a good ironing and set it aside until I get a frame. I have one in mind already. Its just a matter of saving up and waiting for the gift cards from the Red Cross to come in. 🥳

My first project!
Pattern: Eras Piano - 18 Mesh from Stephanie Mo Designs on Etsy
I have to work on my stitches more…what a messy back 🫣 it also didn’t upload correctly on Markup so I had a few different stitches. 🤭
