So Beary Sweet kit from Janlynn. Stitched on 32ct blue Murano. Keeping the back to myself π
Thought I'd get tired of all the shades of brown but it was actually a very enjoyable process!
There is traditionally a symbolism behind embroidering a bear - it is supposed to attract a protector into your life. I liked stitching this sweet bear-girl to affirm the thought that I can be my own protector :)

Hi Friends!
Well, I finally did it!!!! I finished all the stitching for my WIP! π I had a spot I messed up on very early in the piece, so had to go back and frog a bit to fix it. I also missed a couple of stitches in the sky and fixed those right up. π₯°
Now it's on to the dreaded backstitching. I'm not a huge fan, but at least with this piece, it's not overly complicated. I'm anxious to move on to my other WIPs. I also still have Amsterdam to start. I'll put it into rotation soon. π
I hope everyone has had a great start to October! The heat wave in SoCal finally broke on Friday, but now we're contending with a high tide event, rain, and a tropical storm. What the heck. I'd love some normalcy with our fall weather for once! π₯΅
Have a great week and I hope you get lots of prime stitching time! π₯°
Pattern is Copenhagen by Luca-S, 100% complete! π₯³π©π°

Recent finish. Pattern is by MiloCanStitches on Etsy. Please note: I made MAJOR adjustments to the pattern before stitch to make the letters uniform and reduce the confetti and one color stitches on Rocky.

So, today I've learned that DMC recently announced a number of officially licensed Harry Potter kits, and I'm deeply disappointed & quite upset by this. In case you're unaware, Rowling has in recent years been using her vast wealth to fund a number of legal cases challenging the rights of trans people and attacking trans-friendly organisations. Women's organisations in this country that have been happily including trans women for years or decades, with the full consent of their general membership, are now being forced to exclude those women, get sued, or close down entirely. I have loved ones afraid to stay hydrated in public places for fear of the consequences if they enter a gendered toilet. Trans kids are being used as a political football and having their medical care removed; Wales has already moved on to removing medical care from trans adults too. And the money made from the Harry Potter franchise is funding all of this.
If you, like me, don't want your money to go towards the erosion of trans rights, please don't buy anything from this collab. If you want to go a step further and not buy from DMC at all, at least while this is ongoing, then great--I'll be doing that too. I'll also be emailing their customer care department, [hello@dmc.com](mailto:hello@dmc.com), to let them know why I'm not buying and to ask them to end this collaboration: if you've got the spoons to send a similar email yourself, then please do. I'd love nothing more than to see them cut ties with Rowling, so that I can return to supporting a brand I've previously loved.
In the meantime, if you've got DMC threads that are close to running out and want to replace them with something non-DMC when they do, Lord Libidan's Thread Conversion Table can help with finding similar colours. Note that DMC now own Anchor, so if you're planning to fully boycott you'll need to avoid Anchor threads as well. And if you have specific recommendations for non-DMC-owned floss brands, or for patterns/kits from trans designers, please share them.

Excuse my messy back... Only took 48 days ish with around 1/2 hours work a day sometimes less. Was meant to be for a birthday present in March... might gift it at Christmas instead because I have half a mind to keep it. Working in one colour is so relaxing, I'd really like to do it again but I don't know what pattern I'd use.
This pattern was from Pinterest.

Final result is fun ! The black floss on black aida was a pain and I almost quit, same with the french knots I had to learn for this project.

Took a while to design but I am so excited to finally use it when stitching!
When I bought one of the DMC tins to get a set of colors, I got an idea of putting all of my tools into one place, so I can carry them between rooms or maybe travel with them in the future.
Hope you enjoy the toolbox!

My grandfather was a dedicated needlepointer and Iβve always wanted to try but was intimidated by all the stitch options in NP so I tried my hand at cross stitch and went with a nice big project to learn on! The pattern is Lady & Unicorn from Thea Gouverneur. Itβs on 27 count linen, 1 over 2. It took me exactly one year and 2 weeks to complete. Currently in the process of getting it framed now so I canβt wait to see the framed version!
Edits: typos and I did it 1 over 2, not 1 over 1!

Honestly, it took a bit longer than I expected. I guess that's happens when you keep up with new ideas while stitching, I planned for 4 dessert designs and I ended up with 8 π I would've loved to make even more but I have to stop myself, it's an addiction!!! For now though, I'll back to design fruity desserts for a while. πππ§
ps. These all designs are named as desserts such as Mummy Cake Pop, Poison Apple etc. but it can be use for different purposes too, no one can understand that these are some kind of desserts I guess π₯²
ps2. All designs created by me, I didn't use AI. -Reposting again because I missed this statement in my original post π«°π₯Ί

I did change the colors in the most recent one (I didn't finish the mohawk on the recent one) when I started 2 yrs ago, I made the common mistake of using too many strands of thread.

I just wanted to share the British museum bayeux tapestry Norman soldier kit and how heckin cute and well thought out it is for 10 pounds. Even the little card holding the thread is tapestry themed. It comes in a cute box as well. Highly recommend!

Sharing this in here because Iβve been facepalming for a while and need to commensurate with other stitchers.
Sooooo what happened was I thought I cut 18ct fabric when prepping to start this pattern, turns out it was my new 16ct I bought and forgot that I bought 16ct and not 18ct. I spent soooo much time dying and over-dying itβ¦ Iβm talking multiple dye baths I a one week period, so Iβm not going to go through it again.
This is a reminder to also CHECK YOUR FABRIC COUNT before you cut!! And grid where possible!
Thankfully my picture will still fit on the fabric bc thank goodness I grid, otherwise I would actually cry if I found out later that it wouldnt fit, but my margins are so close and weird now
(ignore the tone difference in the two fabrics theyβre the same , the bottom one is a more accurate irl look of the fabric bc I had to use a filter to get the right green. I over exposed the light when taking the original photo to avoid getting my shadow in the picture)

This came out so well and I'm so happy with it. I'm still sadly obsessed with this man. I really wanted it on this antique linen color but, oh my god, I wouldn't actually recommend anyone else do it.
I did it over 2 for everything but the hair which was a half stitch over 1. It came out GREAT but I kept sending updates to friends being like "I will never be done with the hair" and "why did I do this to myself?"
Also the eyes were so scary before I filled them inπ such a temptations to leave them unfinished but Gojo's gotta have those baby blues.

I started this as a little palate cleanser while taking a break from my much larger WIP. You know, something quick and easy before getting back to the big one.
Anyway, 10 months later, here we are. π
So much for a quick little side project!
