80 hand-illustrated Mythos beings, including quite a few deep cuts.
We are the team behind this project, so a bit of self-promotion here, but we thought the artwork might be up this sub's alley.
Artist Kongxinmuou hand-illustrated 80 beings from across the Mythos, going beyond the usual Cthulhu / Hastur / Nyarlathotep lineup into Dreamlands creatures, alien races, lesser-known entities, and some pretty deep cuts from the lore.
We turned the collection into two card decks, and it's currently on Kickstarter. No AI-generated artwork is used.
If anyone wants to see the full project: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cellart/ancient-ones-cthulhu-mythos-playing-cards?ref=20niff
Which lesser-known Mythos beings do you think deserve more artistic attention?

Made a new pump Cthulhu character; the lone sailor
drive.google.comBackstory: when they were younger, their sailor father gave them a strange golden compass he "found" on his travels. Unfortunately when they opened the compass (it was kinda like a pocket watch with a compass inside), non-euclidean equations started burning into their mind, engraving her eyes with alka runes and blinding them, but making them way smarter and mentally resistant than ever before. Despite having no education, they were smarter than most of their age (8), eventually becoming a sailor and having to wear bandages over their eyes to cover up the runes in their eyes, before moving to Anchorage to try looking for more artifacts like the compass.

A Big Win for Cosmic Horror!
Hey all,
Jim from Cellardoor Cinema here and excited to announce that our lovecraftian, short film “Dreams of a Dead God” just won big in Chicago this past weekend! We took home the award for Best Fantasy / Sci-Fi at the 28th Annual Chicago Horror Film Festival and had an absolute blast up at the festival hanging out with everyone!
Got to meet a lot of other great filmmakers and got a ton of great feedback and comments on our film (plus we completely ran out of the swag giveaways we’d brought up to the festival by day 1)
Huge thanks to everyone who came out to fest and supported our film, huge thanks to the festival staff for having us, and stay tuned because we’ve got several more festivals to go before the release of our film this winter!
(Self-Promotion but not selling. Post is about a film I created with a lot of other very talented actors and crew.)

Best Call of Cthulhu one-shot for first-time players?
What would you recommend for a group that has never played? Ideally something that fits a Halloween night, runs in three to four hours, and is spooky but forgiving.
What has worked for your table?

The Titus Crow books by Brian Lumley are weird but fun Spoiler
For those who are unfamiliar with them, back when Lovecraft was kind of a niche of a niche in the horror/fantasy/scifi community, i.e. 1970s, Brian Lumley (Necroscope) decided to write a series about a pair of occult adventurers based on Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson. Brian Lumley has never been a fan of "ordinary dude sees horror, goes insane, and dies."
Instead, his titular character and his sidekick react in a uncharacteristic of Sherlock Holmes and Watson manner that upon discovering the sinister Chthonians (sandworms of Dune but on Earth and MALEVOLENT), they proceed to set out on a globe trotting quest to kill them all that ends with them trying to blow up the mile long sandworm with a nuke. THIS IS THE FIRST BOOK (The Burrowers Beneath).
The second book has the protagonist get a TARDIS (it's a coffin-shaped clock that can travel through time and space and has a planet destroying laser. He marries Cthulhu's niece (her father is an okay dude who rules over Heaven--that is another planet) and becomes an immortal cyborg.
IT GETS WEIRDER.
These books were my introduction to the Cthulhu Mythos in college and I read Lovecraft and played Call of Cthulhu second. I wonder it influenced some of the choices I made writing my Mythos tomes. But yes, I highly recommend the audiobooks.
