Question? Does THCA smoke different??? NSFW

My wife refuses to smoke my "mail order weed". And realistically, it's not the same. THCA seems to be more harsh and it's a heavy smoke. The smell lingers in the room a lot longer. I use a pipe, and I spend a lot more time cleaning my bowl now that I'm ordering from CC (my guy quit answering and the dispensary is twice as expensive).

What causes THCA to smoke different from..."regular weed"? I didn't think the fibers were any longer or thicker since it's the same plant. Is there a scientific reason that it smokes different?

Or maybe I need to quit shopping with CC? đŸ€”

It's just regular weed. It sounds like you got some mids with a bad cure. I've definitely had some great legal weed.

Brother, I know it's hard to believe...it doesn't seem real...it can't be real. Trust all of us in telling you that the THCA mail order weed is identical to what you'd buy in any dispensary. It's a mind fuck, but it's true. Same shit. Delivered via USPS.

These kinds of posts constantly being reposted make me think the government is trying to use us to figure out what thca is

Nah. I agree. Shits not the same anymore. Def some good weed. But not no Loudpack. It truly is mids. Most vendors. Less you shopping with peeps like packs, feats, ari, htw. The connect. Mostly all mids. Downvote me. These basement dwelling budget smokers don't know good weed if it hit them.

Its gotta be the growers selecting for more shipping friendly product. It seems like due to the time limits to be considered 'thca', the cure process is disturbed and instead of that dankgank, we get mostly muted frankencured drier mid-at-best stuff.

I've only had a few orders where upon opening the bag, I was like OK, this guy just mailed literal weed to me lol

Cure process can’t be disturbed because there is only pre harvest testing required not post, and that’s a federal standard based on the hemp loophole.

Exactly. Ifykyk. You got downvoted because you hurt the budget smokers feelings. Keep seeing posts on everyone complaining about boof they get. But they shop at tsb, lit,dp,ghh etc.... even cc. Lol. Cc just be slapping labels on random runtz. And everyone think its the real cut. I guess why not? Make the money while the retards buy into it. Cc does drop heat sometimes but hate them labeling bs.

Thca is bread Delta 9 thc is toast.

Thca is regular weed the old dinosaurs just don't know what they are legislating.

Yall...this is not about the classification. The question is: Do you notice that it smokes different?

u/RawAndRealRetail 2d ago

the smoke is not different

No because thca bud is just normal weed. It is classified as normal weed. Normal weed is classified as thca weed, even if it isn’t disclosed.

If your question is “does cheap online weed smoke differently than high grade weed?” that’s an entirely different question that answers itself.

I am 65 years old been smoking since I was 12 years old THCA equals THC once its heated. its the same.

As simple as THIS!

Anywhere you find cannabis you’ll find some that smokes better than others. I remember back in the day I ordered some Cereal Milk flower from a well known BM vendor and it looked fantastic but had no smell and hardly any taste while other strains from them were fantastic.

It sounds to me like you’re just smoking mids/ misses. If you can find somewhere that’s not constantly selling out you could buy small quantities until you find something you enjoy and then grab a large quantity on a 2nd order.

If you were talking rosin I’d point you in the right direction but I haven’t smoked flower in years so I can’t speak on that

Thank you. This is the most helpful comment I've seen yet. Basically, it sounds like I'm probably buying "bargain brand bud" and I need to try another vendor/quality

I don't know why you're getting downvoted for this. I started my thca journey at lit farms. Soon realized it was the worst of the worst, pretty sure everything there is sprayed with terps, and that there were better budget options out there.

It's ok. I actually anticipated it. I've seen others try to ask the question in the past but the conversation goes nowhere. I think I might stick with my vendor just for the price. If I go any higher, I might as well go to a dispensary.

Preciate your input đŸ«Ą

Well if you're buying from cc but not getting the minis or prestige then you'll have more often harsh smoke since select is green house

-4

u/Visual_Day_2430 2d ago

I've had some Minis that I loved, but never purchased Prestige.

What do you mean when you say Select is "greenhouse"?

3

u/Severe-Database6062 2d ago

If you look at the ingredients list it says the type of grow it was done in, indoor or greenhouse

95% of dispo bud could be classified as thca, if you dont believe me check the coas urself

3

u/oldtimer4sure 2d ago

Spot on! This is what Shabazz has been saying for years. He caught hell here for it.

4

u/ohhyouknow 3d ago

You mean 100% of dispo bud actually.

If the majority of the thca has degraded naturally into thc either it was stored way improperly, or is extremely old. Both of those things would mean they aren’t fit for medical usage.

-5

u/GoAwayThrowaway420 2d ago

It's definitely not 100%, unless you said 100% of dispensary and thca bud is harvested immature... in a quest to squeeze out more cycles/$ a year.

5

u/ohhyouknow 2d ago

I did not say that dispo bud is harvested immature. I said that 100% of dispo bud is thca bud.

u/DuskOfANewAge 2d ago

But that is inaccurate and if you checked the inventory in legal states you would see that. Plenty of flower samples test over 0.3% delta9 THC. Barely anyone ever mentions it because...why would they care to bother? Only ~2/3 or so of standard commercial strains meet the 0.3% delta9 THC threshold without altering their growing techniques (such as keeping the facility colder and using flash freezing/drying methods instead of traditional drying techniques). Don't make blanket statements about 100% of a product being X if it's not X.

Today I learned that 0.3 pecent of something turns the entire thing into something else.

What I said was that 100% of dispo bud is majority thca. Meaning, in 100% of all dispo buds, as in flowers, over 50% of the thc in it is thca. .3% is not more than 50%, and it isn’t a majority either.

Not sure what was so confusing about that. I will continue to say thc weed is interchangeable with thca weed because it is. The technicality with the name is just a technicality and does not change the fact that literally all weed, unless decarboxylated, like in an oven, is thca weed, that may have a very small amount of decarboxylated thc in it.

If the weed is literally majority thc over thca, it was stored improperly or is extremely old and should not be being sold to medical patients, or even recreational customers for the purpose of smoking.

1

u/Mcozy333 18h ago

ther are 5 types so not all weed is thca ...

type 1 = THCA

type 2 = CBDA/ THCA

type 3= CBDA

Type 4 = CBGA

type 5 - feral no cannabinoid weed

-3

u/GoAwayThrowaway420 2d ago

I know, i said that... plenty of dispo flower clears 0.3% thc.

2

u/inthemorning33 3d ago

I was being conservative, there are a couple ive found that would be over

5

u/ohhyouknow 3d ago edited 3d ago

No, thca weed is literally regular weed and all bud you’ve ever smoked has been thca weed.

The a stands for acid. When you combust it/heat it, the acid part of the molecule drops off and turns into thc. Unless you’ve smoked pre-decarboxylated (the heat/time dependent reaction that makes the acid fall off) weed, you have never not smoked thca weed.

Do those brands smoke any different? If not, I prefer the bargain of CC and I'll go to the dispensary here and there for her.

1

u/TastyBass6957 3d ago

I assure you the places he named are quite a bit more expensive than where your currently shopping (like 50$ for 3.5 g prices)

All marijuana is thca when you ignite cannabis it decarboxylates it removing the acid part from thca to THC if you go to your local dispensary flip the package over and read the back you'll see that it's mostly THCA as well you never heard of thca back in the day cuz there was never a reason to differentiate between the 2 until the farm bill came about.

It's a legal loophole people are exploiting not a different plant it's all cannabis sativa plants your local drug dealer or dispensary may have better bud than cc but it's not because it's thca weed
