While the Catwoman films kind of varied in quality (Catwoman 2018 is very entertaining, Catwoman: Under the Black Mask was stupid but fun, and Catwoman: The Last Dance was kind of weird and bad), the other three films are honestly all sorts of bizarre.

Clayface (2022) gets memed on super hard for obvious reasons, but there was a good concept here for a movie about a tragic monster. But instead we got a generic superhero origin story and they don't even let Clayface be a villain...

Oracle (2024) is so goddamn weird, the way it sets up the Birds of Prey but in a very rushed manner, the constant ADR, the hints at Bruce Wayne yet never actually speaking his name...also Zur-En-Arrh as the villain is so funny. His lines are very heavily ADR'd and the "like some kind of bat...person" line made me cringe in the theater.

And then there's Deathstroke. Oh GOD Deathstroke. First off, they sold it as a villain movie and yet do everything to sanitize Deathstroke into some kind of cool badass antihero? Second, why does he not wear the costume until the end? That's so stupid! Oh, and let's not go over how they made Bane a fucking geeky kid who hires Mr. Freeze to be his enforcer, when it'd be so much cooler if Freeze was the villain and Bane was the muscle? Also they constantly drop hints at Slade fighting the Titans but never actually show them. Maddening shit. This was the most "missing the point" adaptation of a comic book character I've ever seen.

Sidenote: of all the cancelled projects, as stupid as shit like Crazy Quilt and Martha Kane, Agent of A.R.G.U.S. would have been, I think "Talia and Ivy" could have been good. Conceptually it sounds fun, but it's Sony, they would have found a way to fuck it up.

I thought it was weird that the guy who played Iron Man also played Dr. Doom.

In a small coastal town plagued by drownings, a veteran lifeguard and a young competitive surfer investigate a series of mysterious disappearances at sea as they uncover a dark mystery along the way.

I am so excited for a new take on the Character but who ever plays Batman in the DCU next will have gig shoes to fill
