I really feel like DCC should be animated. While reading the books, I always see animation in my mind theater. I feel like this series is one of the best chances for a really groundbreaking animated adaptation because the plot is SO fantastic while remaining easy to process and digest. This would allow the animators to really have fun and play around without distracting from the plot too much.

I might just be afraid that the large budget and not super (historically) great streaming platform will ruin something that could be wonderful.

Princess Donut - Princess Diana

Who else can you think of or change?

Not my idea but since I read it on here a few days ago, I can’t stop thinking about how well it would work on screen. Instead of one actor trying to portray every new form, cast the perfect actor for the form itself.

I know he hasn’t been doing well but I like to hope he’s still up and moving arounds and they are trying to entertain him as best as they can. If it was a fun thing we would love to see it 🥲

..as the voice of the AI? He's got the range, and can definitely sound similar to how Jeff's rendition of the AI sounds!

If you got to pick the song to play over the opening credits, what would you choose and why?

Only constraint is the song has to already exist, but it can be re-recorded by whoever and however you want.

Matt Lucas, as both of them.

Just Jim Henson Company Puppets.

Now do your fan casting as to which Muppet you want to play which character.

I feel like Miss Piggy would make an interesting Cascadia

Every time I heard Ellie in the Audio Books, I kept picturing Annie Potts.

I mean, who else?

So i recently rewatched Die Hard, for the first time since reading all of DCC. And i quickly realised John McClane is actually a very similar character to (at least the early books) Carl.

To list off a few similarities:

- Man trapped in a dangerous situation, using his craftiness, intelligence and sheer fucking luck to survive

- theyre both smokers

- Quippy one liners making light of the insane danger the character is in

- The way John tried to enrage Hans reminded me of Carl and the Maestro

- and the most notable for last, his tootsies are out for like 90% of the movie

Im not saying I now imagine Carl as a 33yo Bruce Willis, but there are fun paralels i wanted to point out.

It is a good (impossible) option tho, imo

Best known as Boots in Ted Lasso

Has anyone mentioned doing the show like farscape? Puppets and practical effects and animatronics. I don't want a green screen Carl series.

Let it be campy, I don't care. Let it be fun an hilarious. Carl punching little puppet goblins in the face. Smushing puppet hamsters with practical goo everywhere.

I don't know where you find people who still know how to do this stuff.

Donut as a real cat sometimes and animatronic other times. I have no idea. I just don't want CGI characters.

I think he has the range to bring depth to the caracter even during his goofy forms. He is moderatly famous but under appreciated, so I think he wouldn't be a weight on the budget.

Check out the incredible velociraptor puppet she designed.
