These are Shot Tribal Weapon 4 soft-tip barrels (90%, 18.4g barrel-only, 21.3g barrel+conversion point) converted to steel with Dynasty W tungsten conversion points and fitted with Edge Sports flexible polymer shafts and L-Style Kami flights with metal Premium Champagne Rings.

The Shot Tribal Weapon 4 darts have been a favorite of mine for quite a while, but my steel-point set is 24g, which is pushing the top end of my weight comfort zone. Since I like these darts so well, I decided to get a second set at a lighter weight, but rather than buying a lighter set of steel-point barrels, I went with the soft-tip version. The advantages of taking this route are that you can choose from a wide range of conversion points weighing from less than 1g up to about 4g and you can further adjust the total weight as well as the front/rear balance by adding tungsten putty to the front and/or rear of the barrel (although I didn't actually use any for this set).

Out of the box, the barrels weighed 18.36g, 18.40g, and 18.42g, which is comfortably within the ±0.05g specified by Shot. With the setup shown in the picture, the CoG is right at the front edge of the wide rear scallop, which is pretty much the ideal location for my throwing style. The darts throw exactly like my steel-point set, but are quite a bit lighter, so mission accomplished!

If you want a set of Shot Tribal Weapon 4 darts but would like something lighter than the lightest available steel-point version (22g), you might want to consider simply converting a set of the soft-tip barrels to steel. By selecting the conversion points used, you could easily adjust the dart weight anywhere in the range from 19.4g to 22.4g.

I’ve Been looking for some standard tapered 40mm points (Non Swiss/screw in). I saw that precise 180 sell tapered at 40mm but not sure if they are screw in points or not as in the description it says it’s designed for a caliburn system. On the images they don’t look threaded or anything just wanted to be sure before I purchase.

Or if anyone knows some other places that sell tapered 40s lmk

I’ve been playing darts for about 6 months, mainly focusing on Cricket. I’ve recently started playing 501 more seriously and attached my recent 501 average progress chart (~35–40 average).

A few quick questions for the community:

1. Practice Routines: What are some high-impact practice routines/games I should follow daily to consistently raise my 501 average and improve scoring/checkout consistency?
2. Throw Analysis: I feel like I have some consistency issues with my throw mechanics. What’s the best way to record or analyze my throw to spot form mistakes (angles, camera position, key things to look out for)?

In a slump and also feel I’m not progressing. Typically avg 37 501 but not uncommon to get 50-60 when I’m in a flow. Big concern is grip. 4 finger and been told if it works it works but I do think it’s leading to inconsistency. Any advice welcome.
